Im really thinking about pulling the trigger on this. im just worried that it will look nice and then the start peeling and Im going to wish i never messed with it. so for those who have done it. please be honest and tell me your real expiriances how long have you had it on, the wear and tear and would you do it again?
im thinking of doing a dark grey revington color. with a black roof

I am thinking about putting vinyl in my car also. but everytime I am about to do it, I buy other parts instead. I personally think it will look excellent. Do it.

I followed 7racer not too long ago and glad I did it too. The attention I get is HUGE! The drawback is that you really need to be careful when people grab door handles, park behind you, when you park in front, watching road debris like simple cardboard on the road. These will ultimately scuff your matte and as a result will require re-application. I've had to rewrap a few panels already and now that it's hot, there will be some shrinkage here and there. Overall, I'd do it again.

I would love to do a matte red or a matte orange but I think i much rather get that kind of money into mods for now. this would be one of the last things on my list. I want to be in the 140-145mph range in the quater, some kick ass aero mods, swap out the suspension/brakes, some interior cf mods, wheels and then finally a respray or cover it.

I have a white Geo Prizm that I've only washed about 4 times in the past 14 years so it's got a matte finish now. Does that count? This approach takes a really long time but it's much less expensive than doing vinyl (and I don't have to worry about the shrinkage issues in the heat).

I have had painted matte cars for a few years now. I ran a matte black painted sti for a few years through chicago winters with never an issue. That car eventually went matte orange and is now matte white. My hummer is matte white/matte black paint and has held up fantastically. My GTR is matte pearl white paint and gets driven frequently and washed rarely.
All my matte paint finishes have held up very well. We have been spraying matte for three-four years now and have never had any complaints even from the early cars.
