Its only one part of the whole process. EPA is one step, DOT is another step. Then if you are in California, we have our own EPA.
However, things are moving forward, and it will make it possible to own one of the older cars eventually, legally without having to do all the minor items the government requires for importation.

i'm actually waiting for this as well. Va requires 25 years for it to be considered an antique. is Fed 20 Tyndago?
That sucks for you guys in the states. In Canada we can bring in anything at 15 years old. R33 are showing up legally already.

25 years is the DOT. 21 years is the EPA.
Yes I know it doesn't make any sense. Thats the government for you. If it were 21 for both or 25 for both, it might make sense, but it isn't , and welcome to my world.
