One of my best friends died early this morning from a heart attack. Matti Hakala was one of the best car tuners in Sweden and the whole of Europe. Has built numerous WRC rally cars and many many street cars from the 70's up to yesterday. He was my personal mechanic and built all my cars the last 8 years. He was almost like a dad for me and I miss him so much already.
He leaves behind a son, Martin Hakala 30 years old, a sister and an older brother Olavi.
We had a memorial tonight to show support for his brother and son who also are close to me.
Take care of each other out there, life is so precious.

Today me, a couple of his closest friends and family took farewell of Matti. I broke down completely.. Awaiting date for the funeral. All practical things coming up... 30+ years of things gathered in a big speed shop. I'm in complete pain now. I will make the trip with my GT-R and friends to Nurburgring early next month. "Matti Hakala memorial run". Matti build the very first BTCC Volvo 850 Estate along with many many other cool stuff. We are putting together a page on Facebook dedicated to him. I'll let you know when it's up.

Thanks Eric! Not sure if you know but Matti did actually build a 665awhp Mitsubishi Evo6 TME in 2008. Well built car with excellent parts
