It's been a while since we've updated due to SEMA week, so we decided  to give you a sneak glimpse at the special projects we have going on.

We are currently tearing down our very own VR38DETT for some internal goodies!  SP Engineering has built many 1000hp + motors in the past from the RB26DETT and 2JZ-GTE, etc.  From our past projects we've accomplished, the VR38DETT will receive the very same treatment in order to achieve the most reliable power.

Please stay tuned and we will keep everyone posted!  Future upgrades will be used along with the Greddy turbo kit to produce the most efficient power for the R35 GTR.

Transmission plans are in the works.  Here are some images of the PPG 1st gear and SSP's clutch packs we have.  Dodson parts will be in the works as well.

**UPDATE**

We have recently completed our very own R35 motor build at SP Engineering.  Please know Pistons and rods were the only items that were upgraded at this point which would be a minor build for further testing.

Our choice of pistons were from CP Pistons (standard bore) with special CP coating along with Carrillo rods

Final shots of the build are here.  Our head and other items were left to factory specs as this is just our test build.

We have also added 1000cc injectors from our previous setup.  Our Greddy Turbo kit will still be used for this testing stage.

More updates to come.

Hey, is that the OEM clutch pack like you said on earlier threads?  Or is it the SSP replacement?

That is the infamous SSP Clutch packs and PPG 1st gear set.  Our transmission build is put on hold until more further testing has bee done.

so thats just a piston and rod replacement with no liner / sleeve / or spray coating added?   Looking forward to how thats going to go.   So far with proper fuel and tune, pistons seem to be the problem.
