They got waved up. Probably never went drag racing before, and just kept going. I have seen it a few times. I have seen guys line up at the tree. Other people line up with the rear wheels. Some of the best/worst ones are launching in reverse.

i "sort of" did it over the weekend... i was backing up a slight incline and i paused for a minute and had my foot firmly on the brake so it wouldnt lurch foward and i mashed the gas fairly hard with the foot still on the brake without thinking and the damn car jumped up to LC2 revs in reverse and shot back a few feet... i had no idea it would do that in reverse

Now that is awesome. I'm glad he didn't hurt anyone by taking the track before it is "deemed" clear, but it is something to look back at and get a chuckle.
I wonder how harsh the track was too him after this event?

Damn... Good thing everyone ended up safe...
There was a young man a few months ago at PBIR, Silver Vette, that apparently did not know where the end of the 1/4 strip was, and just kept on going at over 100mph into the gravel pit/fence/net. No Brakes ever applied.
That guy had to be Airlifted out to the local Level 1 Trauma Center with head trauma ..

If this is who I think it is, sad for me to say but I believe he passed away. It was his first time at the track too.

^ If this is true - it is indeed a sad incident.
