Time for a new build thread.

Big thanks to the guys at Mercury Motorsport who are working hard on the car right now.

Also thanks to AMS, Dodson and Just Jap who are helping us out immensely. This thread in part is to say thanks to all you guys.


Things have just got underway today. here is the obligatory shopping list, not everything here though can be found in the store :o

ENGINE:
Bottom end - AMS 4.0 big bore built engine
Head - Cams and upgraded valve springs etc
AMS alpha 10 turbo and exhaust manifold package
AMS piping and MAP sensors.
AMS intercooler
Mercury custom 4 inch titanium variable valved exhaust
Mercury surge tank setup and upgraded fuel lines thoughout.
COBB AP (what else?!)

TRANSMISSION:
Full Dodson spec Straight cut box, the works!
Dodson FWD clutch upgrade
Front and rear ATS diffs


SUSPENSION:
Still running the Murray Coote custom setup
Hi octane front control arms
Dodson rear control  arms
Whiteline antiroll bars
Whiteline bushes


AERO +  BODY:
Reworking the R2.2 wing height and aerofoil etc
Custom diffusers
Top racing widebody carbon front bumper and fenders
Custom carbon splitter changes to the Top racing piece
Top racing side skirts and plates
Carbon vented hood
Carbon doors with custom carbon door trim and window frame
Polycarbonate side and rear windows
Custom carbon dash and transmission tunnel cover
OMP carbon seats
Mercury Chrome-Moly cage
Other sneaky custom aero engineering.....

WHEELS:
CCW all the way with their forged lightweight custom goodness
12 x 18 all round for michelin slicks
11 x  18 all round for semislicks

BRAKES:
AP racing rotors
Endless pads (various!)
Willall water cooling
Custom ducting
Upgraded lines


I am sure I have left stuff out. you'll see though during the build

a lot of bolt on upgrades but some serious development and custom pieces this time.

its  a fun ride for sure

Out of all the GTR builds I can't think of one that is more "complete" than yours. It has EVERYTHING!!!

what was the max whp of a GTR35 on a dyno dynamics in shoot out mode?

how much whp will you be making in shoot out mode?

Eric, we are looking forward to the 4.0 and alpha 10!


car is now almost stripped bare.

Dashboard and doors are off for design and  mold production for the carbon pieces. we are going for a carbon dash with OEM feel but simplified only to fit the drivers instrument cluster, MFD and RRR buttons.

The carbon doors are being modified to incorporate a carbon skin with integrated window frame for the polycarbonate windows just as in the SUMO POWER cars.

Dashboard out and ready to send to Carbon fabricators for the race dash.
some people have expressed interest in all the OEM pieces being fabricated in carbon in a true OEM style. let me know if interested in either an OEM dash or race dash.
