Yes they sure are. I did some wot runs when I picked up the car and that extra torque really makes a difference on the butt dyno. Was really surprised my pirelli sotozero winter tires held the power but I am on the max traction awd controller map and that litchfield handling kit really make the car feel more planted. how many psi you run to get 840whp with e75 ?

This turbo can get how many max whp on pump gas ?

Thanks. Hopefully it is warm enough to open the gates. Forecast looks a little iffy there.

any updates ?

Yes sorry, I have not updated this thread in awhile as I am still dialing in traction on the new R888Rs and the best ET I have been able to muster is 10.03 with a 1.698 60 foot. My best trap has been 148. Problem with my set-up is a hard BOTL and RPM launch with a better 60 foot time results in wheel spin through 1st and 2nd making a low rpm bogged launch the only way to avoid short shifting for wheel spin. I just had Procom add adjustable boost by gear and adjustable traction control (see screen shot below) and hope to be able to crack into the 9s now that I can dial down power in 1st and 2nd (I am thinking 18psi in 1st and 22 psi in 2nd, full boost in 3rd). Ambient air temps have also been in the 50s my few times out so now that it is getting warmer my tires may get a little stickier too.

I am heading to a private track rental on Monday and will report back. That being said I know these turbos won't win and drag strip contests and that is not really the point; I wanted a versatile turbo for fast street, drag strip, and road course that didn't take anything away from the GT-R ease of use and livability.

Going to try to get into the 9.6 to 9.7 et with the r888rs and then retire the Rs for the road course and summer streets and try move to a 4 wheel slick package for the strip later on in the season and see if i can get into the low 9s with this set up the way Piano did. I am wondering if the new Rs are not as good on the strip as the old Rs but I will reserve judgment until I am out on a warmer day.

In terms of fun on the street I love this set up and the tuning and mechanical work has been spot on.   e5eb77e38eba85ff09a482e3e33fb029.jpg325620afc2e9fc8002bbf20bc4472cd9.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sorry missed your post/question. My max boost is 1.7 bar absolute. Turbos can spin 2 bar absolute no problem but Lou's view is that the the extra 50 whp or so is not worth the reliability risk for running the turbos at the edge of their efficiency. No idea what my pump gas numbers are. I run e85 almost exclusively April through November.

This is exactly what I'm looking for. Not interested in running 8's. Just want to retain the transient response and aspects that I absolutely love about the GTR at FBO.

So unfortunately the track rental on Monday was a bust for me because my car was locked into RWD mode causing me to spin way to much to generate even any stock GT-R comparable 60 foots and ETs.  Strange thing was that ECU and Kaps AWD controller still showed front torque split but everyone who watched the passes and drove my car confirmed there was no pull from the front wheels.  We took trans and AWD controller logs for Shep and are still waiting to hear back from him on whether he thinks I had a mechanical or software issue.

I think I may have diagnosed and fixed the problem though the day after my passes by downgrading the Kaps AWD controller firmware and reflashing my controller maps.  I remembered posts about similar problems on the B35 FB Page with the most recent firmware and when I went to the Kaps website I saw a cryptic "bug report" note listed next to that version so maybe that is the issue.   After reflashing the controller it does feel like I have front grip again but have only been able to make very short WOT 1st gear pulls driving around town during the day to avoid picking up a ticket for being an ahole so I can't say for sure.  Have some friends going down to Cecil for test-n-tune on Friday and am going to know definitively whether I have full AWD functioning back after my first pass.

The weird thing about the controller issue is it shipped with the most recent firmware from Shep and was fine for like 7 months or so and I just starting having problems a few weeks ago, which were gradual.  I noticed a sharp drop off in front traction even on Map 4 and was getting a very pronounced shunting sensation from rear to front torque split, particularly on stopping, before I think I ultimately lost all front torque split at the track.  I thought perhaps it was my ETS going or a problem with my pretty new Shep 1k but I am cautiously optimistic now it was just the controller firmware.  I suppose the true test would have been to add back the stock controller but I did not have it with me on Monday.  I am interested in hearing from anyone who has experienced any similar issues but will report back in any even over the weekend.

That is what I thought but I got the Shep look over / refresh on my ets as part of my 1k drag pack build and only have like 4 months and 1500 miles on the trans. I roll map 4 awd controller all the time though.

No track for me tonight. Picked up a utility razor Blade in one of my rear tires around a construction site a few blocks from my house on my way home tonight. Managed to pull it out and use fix a flat with a few stops for air fill at a crawl to my nearby body shop. 2 new rear tires ordered from tire rack. Guess the 9 second street tire god aren't with me today. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
