2009 GTR...I know there is a lot of information out there regarding stoptech brake pads...but didnt find anything for my particular use cases...

1. Daily driving use
2. No track use.
3. Budget friendly (for dd street use)
4. Will be exploring other options for track use if necessary.

I was wondering if Stoptech Street Brake Pads will be OK for a GTR with the above use cases...I understand the pads are smaller than OEM so heat dissipation may be an issue if driving hard...but with daily driving use...i dont anticipate this being an issue...i also understand that dust is on par with stock pads or slightly greater...but this doesnt worry me too much...

the next question may be stupid...but the Stoptech pads should drop into the current stock setup (calipers / rotors) without an issue right ?

I saw a couple tutorials on replacing pads on the GTR...it seems that more work may be involved with jacking and removing the wheel than actually replacing the pads...any "gotchas" i need to worry about ?

The Hawk HPS pads, and the Hawk Performance Ceramic pads are both better choices in my opinion. Slightly more money, but better overall based on customer feedback. The HPS in particular are very popular for their low dust & squealing... the Ceramics are similar. As a matter of fact I just sent a set of Hawk Performance Ceramics to a customer yesterday as he wanted a good stopping pad that wouldn't dust or squeal. I have more in stock if you'd like them. I'll give you a good deal

Me too pls

And 5 years down the road when you trade it in for $30k nobody is going to give a F*** that you licked it clean. Keep it up!

It is called the "pop and bang map" in the UK and is generally used by twats who spend most of their time racing around central London acting like dicks.

What are the best pad similar to OEM pads? Here are my requirements.
  • Squeal and dust doesn't bother me.
  • Performance on the street and track is important.
  • stops better than oem on the street.
  • stops better than oem on the track.
  • last longer than oem.
  • cheaper than oem.

I'd recommend the Hawk DTC series of brake pads for you. HPS and ceramic may only be a slight improvement... where the DTC series will stop a lot better for you.

Let me know if you want a quote on them.

Anything really, DBA 5000 T3 slotteds work just fine for those.

Currently I have the stock brakes and rotors on my 14 with 11k miles.  Over 60% left.  However, I am going to COTA for a few days and wanted to bring an extra set of pads with me, just in case.  I hope not to have to put them on with the stock rotors, but wanted just to have something on hand if needed.  I know once the stock equipment is gone I will replace the rotors too.  I have been running the Hawk HPS series on my ISF for several years and love them.  Will be replacing them soon.  Sounds like the DTC series is the way to go.  Any other specific pad/rotor setup I should consider.  Dust doesn't bother me, but sequel does.  THX.
