Just put Nitto 555r on front, Nitto 05r on rear yesterday.  Haven't driven it yet, but Eugene @ SPE said he liked it and gripped awesome.  20" both, but only 1 size option and they are a lil taller tire.

So are the 555R's better than the R888's? I will need to buy one or the other once my car gets finished.

never tried the R888 .. but from what i have seen the nittos are alot better then R888's  .. a few cars have run 1.7-1.8 with R888 @ the track..   Nittos have gone 1.52 (not my car)

On the street with my setup 800/800 and ONLY nittos DR 555R in the back and invos in front , my car puts the power down in every gear :lmfao:

Where did you get yours.  Been looking all over and cannot find the 285/35/20 for the OEM rims.  What size did you use to fit the OEM rims.  Just so I understand these are great at the drag strip but also acceptable for street driving and track use.  The reason I ask is I have a set of 21's I run on the street with seperate rims but occassionally when doing a track event swap out my for my OEM rims with Dunlops and typcially street drive until I get a chance to swap the 21's.  Would love not to have 3 sets of tires :-)

I just bought mine.  VERY hard to find due to crisis in Japan.  I spent 1.5 days searching. There were literally only 3-20" NT05r's left in the country, and they were not easy to track down.  The 555r's are just as tough to find. Luckily, I only needed 2.  For now, I found that Jeg's keeps them in stock and is the best option. There are a ton of online dealers, but they don't really stock them. They pull from some distant central warehouse that everyone goes to.  Try Discounttiredirect.com, Jegs, VividRacing.com.

I'm not saying that one is better than the other because I have never tried the Nittos but I'm running 20" R888's and I have smoked everything I've run on the street and ran 9.88 with a 1.67 60' at the track.  I have been told more than once by guys a lot smarter than me that the Nitto's are best for the drag strip and the Toyo's are best for the road course. Built my car primarily for the road course so it's Toyo's for me.

Fatnslo. That is exactly my understanding also.  Why I went Nitto. I'll never be on a road course (or not frequently at least).

Yep, R888 are a lot better handling tires for sure! Nittos 555 are made for straight line . The only other draw back to the R888 is very pricey..

And to the guy looking for nittos ..they don't make OEM size you have to go to the 275 /20 in the front and 305/20 in the rear

OK as a newb here, I think I got this figured out!  Found four Nitto 555R in stock, however since the main slip will be the rear, put those in the back and then put the Nitto Invo's in the front and I would have a good hybrid of drag strip and track use (just want to confirm why you don't go 555R all around).  The sizes to confirm to go on the OEM rims would be 305/35/20 rear and 275/40/20 front is this correct?  And need to confirm these will fit the OEM's if so want to pull the trigger.
