So a vette lover was trashing me about my car today....He'd keep showing me videos of vettes with slicks on beating gt-rs but would completely ignore my statements about stock vs stock the gt-r would win...any thoughts on this? All i could say was vettes are a dime a dozen...

Please opinions.

Ignore him, no need to argue with him, waste of time. Tell him to get a vette first (which i doubt he has one), then talk.

From a dig, on a street, a 2013 GTR can beat both the Z06 and the ZR1. LC5 FTW. Actually, the Z06 will never catch up... The ZR1 might catch up, after 30 seconds or so!

I for one, would never race a Corvette under any circumstances, not on a race track or otherwise. They have a bad habit of swapping ends and  smash into objects sideways.

On the street it is not even close from dig for 1/4 mi.  The vette has to be perfect just to stay close.  Of course this assumes GTR driver's reaction time is within 0.25 s of the vette.

Show him videos/results of One Lap, where in the real world, driver-for-driver, GT-Rs are easier to drive fast than Corvettes, modified or stock (this years OLOA was an awesome example, where both modded and even a stock GT-R finished very well in a field)

Results talk.  Youtube videos are lame.  There are a thousand variables in what could be happening in a Youtube vid.

I don't get die-hard Vette fans.  They think everyone should want the plastic fantastic.  That's like saying everyone from every city should like the Dallas Cowboys.

Chapman philosophy: simplify, then add lightness.

Mizuno philosophy: add convenience and technology to gain confidence behind the wheel; make a GT car that's faster than every sports car.

Drag radials are far from "bone stock car settings".... how about some real bone stock Z06?

Real world stories? A stock Z06 on the street, has no chance of keeping up with a GTR, off the line. Once the GTR has secured a lead, it will keep it all the way to 196-197 mph... Remember the Z06 is down on power compared to a 2013 GTR.... Power to weight ratio is almost identical....

Show me the math that power to weight ratio is almost identical

Power to weight is not down for the z06. They weigh about 3100#s vs the GTR weighing closer to 3900#s. I owned a c6 z06 from stock to 1000rwhp when fully built and blown. The stock z is a monster when it hits 3rd gear. The GTR should definatley get it thru the quarter mile, but would not be suprised if the z06 went around it after that.

I went at it with a newly purchased Z06 (temporary tags) from 60 to 100 and he saw my tail lights, and that was in my 485hp 2011 GTR.  A 2013 would probably pull all the way to top speed.
