Don't you have to switch out gears to do this is a gtr? I could have sworn I've seen multiple gtrs sit at red line at 6th a little past half a mile.

A few things...

A tune with a raised rev limiter can increase speeds over 220mph.

BUT - without some pretty decent power, the car will not redline in 6th (~195mph) before the mile.  Usually only cars that have been significantly modded beyond the obligatory Y-pipe and Stage 1/2 tune will have to worry about that.

Who has their stock rev limiter bumped over 7800 rpm because that is what it takes to go over 220 mph in stock gears.  Boost would be really low at that rpm on stock turbos.

Hey that's my video and me driving! The event was called Race The Base in Alberta and if you would like further details on the event you can go to their website, www.racethebase.ca

Anyways, I am completely stock and had the car in automatic, they told me it would be faster that way, and obviously in R mode. A professional driver was mandatory along side for safety reasons in the one mile and top speed. The Aventador went without and as you can see in a video on my channel, he probably regrets it.

In total I raced four cars on race day, completely embarassed a Ferrari 360 as well as a BMW M5 (didn't post the videos because those cars were so far behind), and then I also raced the McLaren (as posted above, it was damn fast and I knew it would be, fun car to race) and the last race was against a ZR1. Here is the video of that 1 mile race, those ZR1's have more power that I had originally thought but he did jump the start.

And then there was a Top Speed event, which was two miles on the runway to see what you could mange out of your car in a safe environment, as you can see in this video, I hit 303kmh, my main goal was to hit 300 so I was quite happy:

Yeah I believe he was the other 2012 GTR, the white one? I'm pretty sure he was one of the top cars there, crazy fast. He was the only GTR owner/driver I didn't managed to find or talk to. I've thought about tuning but quite often it seems very unreliable. There was a Switzer GTR that blew up 4th gear and a few other cars (not GTR's) that had problems as well due to the tuning. One of the Gallardo's that was tuned at the event burn't to pieces a couple days ago do to the mods in Vancouver. I have nothing against it and I actually think it's quite cool but I am going to hold off on tuning it until the warranty runs out. It's also quite tricky to decide which exact package I'd like to put on it. One day!

I couldn't really tell if he actually knew the extent of the damage, I'm sure that the floor of the car must have been in pretty bad shape after bouncing around like that, and you can see lots of damage in the video. I kind of think he was just trying to be positive with everybody there but surely he wasn't feeling good on the inside.

Imagine if he had hit that solid light signal at the end. Game over for that car.

Then Image if the insurance company got wind of what he was doing. $300,000+ gone!
