Anyone used R888 on their GTR and not liked them....If so why?

They are noisy and are terrible in the rain. But I still run them so the pros outweigh the cons.

The thing I miss about the stock Dunlop is the razor sharp response and " planted " feel. The MPSS don't have this. How's the R888 compare ?

Good on the track but sounds like you are driving a tractor on the street. They vibrate at lower speeds and hum like a mofo on the highway. Other than that they work well...lol.

Hmmmmm ....... Maybe stock Dunlop 285 square. Apart from cost and ride quality I get the impression these are the best tire

Couldn't agree more with the noise and the wet.

I run them on my car as well and they hook great with the power I'm at even on race gas.

I seriously couldn't image having another tire after using them... maybe if Michelin ever decides to make a Pilot Sport Cup.

Personally, I think because of the softer sidewall in the PSS you get this feeling. The R888 grip in the dry is no contest compared to either of these tires.

OK I'm trying to get my car into the mid 10s and will also drive to the Nurbergring in 2013 ..... So the R888 might fit the bill well. I just need to check the weather and wear ear defenders whilst driving LOL

To be truthful, after tuning a 2012 BE the other day with stock Dunlops I couldn't wait to drive me car again. They are absolutely the most uncomfortable tire and I even thought they were noisy.

But I do like the sounds this car makes, all of them so the noise is not very bothersome for myself.

i thought r888 were used by some as a wet road racing tire? i have read so many mixed reviews about how they handle the rain.

Great grip but not many heat cycles for the track. Howl on the street. Prices sure have gone down and make the 285s a decent buy!

An adventure in the rain. Puddles, dips in roads - especially on highways will cause you to check your pants. And noisy, definitely louder than the Dunlops in my opinion. But for dry days I can't imagine having any other set up. When it is time to replace I am likely to get another set

I like my R888s and don't even notice the noise anymore, it actually sounds kind of cool.
