Looking to purchase a GTR.  Wanted to get some feedback if there's a better decision between the 2013 or 2014.  There are plenty of new ones for both years.  I intend to do a few mods.  Beef up the trany a bit and would like to run about 650-700hp.

Thanks in advnace for the feedback.

Engine and tranny is carried over unchanged from 2013 to 2014.  Minor interior changes (white stitching) +/- amber red interior option.  Minor suspension tweaks.  ECU changes to improve mid to high rev range response.  Mods and a good tune would nullify that.  IF you can get a 2013 for under MSRP, you'd be paying AT LEAST $3000 less than a similarly equipped 2014 at MSRP, which means you have at least that much money you can put into mods.  Good luck in your decision.

As Djpathfinder said, the changes from 2013 to 2014 are pretty minor.  If you fancy red interiors you may want to check out the 2014, but if not, a 2013 should save you a few thousand in cash for those mods.  Good luck, I'm sure you'll be happy either way.

2012 is the best bang for the buck! Over $20k less for a mere 15hp less and probably less than 5WHP...no brainer to me.

And all this time I thought they changed injectors and revised internal engine parts...

Not significant enough to discount 2012-13.

2014 changes from FAQ sticky by Davin:

Introduction of Track Edition (known as For Track Pack in other markets)
Colors:  Unchanged
Exterior:  Carbon brake ducts added to Track Edition front lip. Premium and Black Edition remain unchanged

Engine/Transmission: retains power rating from 2013 545hp/463lbft. Improvements include sharper mid-range engine response and improved high-endacceleration.The incorporation of high-output injectors that more precisely control fuel injection improve mid-range engine response and acceleration at higher rpms.Specially-developed orifice to the relief valve have been added to the turbocharger bypass; these suppress the rapid decrease of the forced injection pressure, helping to sustain acceleration at high rpms By adding a specially-designed baffle plate to the oil pan, oil pressure is better stabilized while rotational friction within the oil pan is reduced, especially during high-performance driving.

Suspension:lowered the vehicle's center of gravity in accordance with the deflection of the suspension bushings and tires. The specifications of the shock absorbers and front stabilizer have also been modified.
Cam bolts have been installed on the front suspension to improve camber accuracy and maintainability of alignment settings.
The torque from the driveshaft to the hub bearings was increased

Brakes: Unchanged
Wheels: Unchanged
Interior: Premium model adds optional Amber Red interior package / Black Edition retains 2012/13 equipment and adds two tone red trim steering wheel

I do really appreciate Nissans habit of continual development.
