Nissan GT-R Special Edition
Since its introduction in 2007, the Nissan GT-R has consistently earned high praise from customers all over the world as one of the most exciting supercars on the market. A new exclusive limited-edition model will further widen its recognition among fans.
Nissan will introduce the GT-R Special Edition with a new exterior body color, Midnight Opal, and feature equipment that have proved immensely popular with past GT-R customers, including a dry carbon fiber rear spoiler and forged aluminum wheels with a hyper-titanium coating. A gold model number plate will be included within the engine compartment to emphasize the GT-R Special Edition's exclusivity.
The new Midnight Opal paint is applied with each coat carefully applied by hand, resulting in an exterior finish that can only be seen in the most exotic of supercars. The finished surface sparkles like a jewel, and how the coloring is perceived changes depending on light conditions and viewing angle. The dry carbon fiber rear spoiler enhances aerodynamic stability at ultra-high speeds, while the black finish spices up the look of the car's rear end. Reduced unsprung weight enhances the GT-R's already remarkable handling and improves ride quality. The highly-rigid lightweight forged aluminum wheels, which feature an eye-catching hyper-titanium colored coating, provides even more visual flair to the car's overall appearance.

- If an SS commands a $3K premium, what will this paint upcharge cost?
- Why not offer this through the Neiman-Marcus Christmas Book?
- Will other special editions follow?
- Could this be a sign that the DBA is nearing an end?

It's just something for a true collector to collect. The people with garage space to let a car sit for 30 years and put maybe 1000 miles on it during it's lifetime. 50 years later your grand kids sell it at barrett jackson for million dollars and it's done.

This color i think was used on the early 350z...if iam correct.
No, this color is neither Brickyard (2003) or Interlagos Fire (2006). The GT-R color has more purple hues than deep red and the metalflake has more brown/copper towns where Brickyard had heavy black metalflake and Interlagos was more on the coppery than brown end.
Skeptical the US will ever see this color.
