Switzer Goliath Sets Standing Mile Top Speed Record

At the Russian Unlim 500+ Training Day, a Switzer Goliath GT-R set a new top speed world record- trapping 402.23 kmh (249.9 mph) in the standing mile. Elapsed time was 22.602 seconds. Impressively, the Goliath was a customer driven GT-R running a Switzer 3.8L motor with factory standard gear ratios. See below for the video, time slip and dyno sheet.

249 mph? hot damn ! Neil congrats bud. What were the RPMS at the line? had to be close to 9000 ??
Congrats to everyone involved. That's a serious trap speed on stock gearing.

To be fair omega never ran the mile at anything over 1200-1250whp, we were pretty clear about that at the time we made the run.

Congrats again to the owner and all involved.

Eric
Switzer, damn !!!, funny I remembered back in the days there were conversations that the GTR would never hit those speeds, because of its frontal aerodynamics, crazy respect for you guys
Thats pretty quick... cant wait to see another shop try to match. These speed wars are fun and great for the community.

Stay safe :)
Huge congrats. You guys are amazing
Congrats to all! If Tire Rack's tire diameter info is right for the 315/R888s then its just a shade over 9000 RPM @ 402kph, and who knows how much higher than that with a bit of clutch slip thrown in...
Wow 249.935 MPH. Temped to just round it up to 250 :) Completely awesome result congrats

A new world record is set and there's essentially crickets in here (considering there's been over 800 views). Of course I know why, which makes it even more satisfying. :)

PM?

I've always been truly impressed with Switzer and their approach to tuning. I can only imagine what the Goliath+ builds are going to do if a "basic" (if you can call it that) Goliath is doing 250mph in the mile.
WOW!!! Congrats to Team Switzer!! 402kph over 1 mile is some serious numbers
please go back out sometime soon to beat the 405kph record set by the TT Lambo
Congrats Tym. Congrats Boyan. And congrats to the rest of the Switzer team. That is serious kickass. Nice to hear you guys making some noise.

LOL! Got a hot tip that a former forum principal has an undiscovered mod account and has been hiding all the posts? :)
Congrats good to see what the goliaths are doing out there.

:lmfao:
Amazing, but that's pretty much all we expect these days :) Great work Switzer / Syvecs USA crew!!
how much fuel is used for a single 1 mile pass?
Why are you having clutch issues we made some huge power on 10+10 clutch zero slip on Motec and Cobb???is the clutch installed correct or is the syvecs not controlling the clutch correctly??any how well done that's some huge rpm!!!and good speed
Holy crap that is fast!!!

Hi Mario

I was actually over in Moscow looking after the Syvecs Management so best i answer this...

The Control of the Clutches is not the problem here and i'm pleased to hear you have found the same on the Motec and Cobb. Hopefully soon you will try the Syvecs management which is used on nearly all the Fastest GTRs in the world :D

Syvecs Middle East is fully operations and i believe you have Salems number.

The actual issue is not on the Shift as Neil had stated but when upping the torque on Clutch pack B it would lose grip and the Syvecs Clutch Slip limp protection would kick in as well as the TCM requesting a Torque reduction which is shown in the EngTrqLim on the below log. We class any slip on the Promax as not acceptable, as i'm sure you know it will warp the steels in ms.. so its vital this trip is present! and the reason why that after the slip happened i was able to work around the problem instead of putting the car on trailer using the Syvecs Torque control and Friction modifiers to work out a Torque plot which would just find the limit of the Clutch friction. Unfortunately this ment i could not hit the torque hard in the lower gears to improve the ET.

This log will interest you i'm sure

Look at the Clutch let go in 3rd and then after the syvecs had dropped the torque massively it then would let the driver shift manually (autoshift wont shift until the vehicle speed is correct for target) but then the throttle is clamped.

This log shows how important and good our traction control is... look at the top table for torque reductions LOL. This car is making some POWER and when the clutches did let go it really unloading the rear and even when it shifted it still span the wheels at only 20% desired torque which could of been bad without traction control being available.

I'm not sure on the Clutch config used but i do know the box had to come apart in Russia after delivery due to a PPG 4th gear issue.

Hope this answers your questions and you get in contact with Salem

Congrats again to Owner and Switzer for building a weapon!

Ryan
how power does it put down??? thing keeps going
What sort of gear oil press u Guys running, clutch clearance( a 10+10 clutch shouldn't slip at all if done right )?? To be truthful I don't think ill ever run syvecs on a gtr as Motec has a very good product best in my opinion and I am the Middle East distributor for the product !! All tho your product works well
That's a crazy trap speed for a Mile, congrats to Switzer!

I hope more US GTR owners that do big builds will start doing Mile events.

-This car's same 3.8 engine has now completed 4 Moscow Unlimiteds, including the (6) 245+ mph runs it made today, and is still running strong.

This is the part I am loving... unlike certain a so-called record holding Lambo which burst into flame at the end of its run.

Didn't see your post before mine, lol. Wow, on 28" tires that's hitting 8900rpms through the traps. :o

I know this is a typo, but the visual that popped in my head still made me laugh out loud.

<edit> Sorry..., not a typo... just realized Steve meant the overall diameter of wheel and tire, but that still doesn't disspell the comical image I have a GT-R on 28" wheels running 250mph.
Oh, and  congrats on the build, Switzer! It is awesome to see each successive build further push the envelope and show what the R35 is capable of. Of course, now the road course part of me is wondering how we get this thing to corner at ridiculous speeds. ;)
