NISMO TV: Riding Shotgun in a GT500 GTR
Aug 22 2017 01:31 PM | MC in Motorsports

Find out what it feels like to ride in a 530+hp GT500 car with Tsugio Matsuda at the wheel. The 2013 Nissan Nismo Motul Autech GT-R GT500 had an extra seat put in so Sam could experience one of the fastest passenger laps ever!

He sure was surprised to feel G forces. My guess is the experience was very new for him. I'd love that experience.
oh Sam is very involved in racing he runs http://www.racecar-engineering.com/ when he isnt working for NISMO. http://www.racecar-e...com/author/sam/
look at Darrel Waltrip for example who is a lifelong race driver and freaked out in an Australian V8 Supercar up on Mt Panorama as it was totally different experience than what he was used to. thats a classic vid
530 HP is nothing except if you only weight 2600 pounds and have massive down force...........
GT500 cars are faster than LMP2 cars and like 4 secs off a LMP1 at Fuji
Looks like this ride along was in a 2013 spec GT-R NISMO GT500 car which had a naturally aspirated 4.5liter V8. But the 2014 thru 2017 GT-R NISMO GT500 car has a 2.0liter turbo-charged I4 and is even faster than the 2013 version but I bet the naturally aspirated V8 in the 2013 sounds better.
Regarding WEC LMP cars, after 2017 Toyota will be the only competitor left in the LMP1-Hybrid category unless they quit too or Mazda and/or Peugeot come back to WEC. FIA WEC needs to open up LPM to include IMSA Prototypes and maybe DTM and GT500 cars and drop LPM1-Hybrid. That would be really cool but very unlikely to happen.

OK...my turn. LOL...
sick video
the balance does matter, not the horsepower.
By chance a few weeks back flew next to DW on a short flight from Nashville to Atlanta. He was headed to Daytona to do the broadcast. What a prince of a guy. We talked cars the whole way. Have to say wasn’t much of a NASCAR fan but after speaking with him I find myself checking it out a little more.
