TSM | ETS 30R Pump Gas Monster! 971HP on 93

Hey guys,We are super busy over here trying to get ready for TX2K but I wanted to fill you in on a project we just finished.

After talking back and forth with this customer for over a year he decided it was time for some more power. It was a great honor to receive the go ahead on the build from this guy. He is an old school car guy who has built dozens of fast cars over the years. Some were built by shops and other buy him and his friend in their shop.

He is now a man with the means to pay for a top notch build and could have sent his car anywhere. I was very excited when he told me that he had chosen us for his build.

That being said this particular customer does a lot of roll racing ( Half Mile type racing) but does most all of it on pump gas. He asked me to design a build within his budget that would perform to his needs optimally.

After several different options were considered we landed on a 30R build with some TSM custom parts at the heart. I got on the horn with Manley and ordered up some custom compression pistons and started working on cam combinations that would work perfectly with the rest of the build.

The results of the combination we put together really worked well. To the point that we were shocked at how great the results were.

An AWESOME 971 WHP on good ole' Shell 93!!! So this customer can roll around with two PUMP gas maps to chose from. 23-24 PSI making 900 WHP! Or PUMP KILL @ 971!

Unfortunately we ran out of fuel on 100oct race gas so we were not able to push this girl to her limits. For the boost levels listed below however this thing is seriously doing work!

We were also able to get some 60-130 pulls before the car left in order to have a little pudding proof. The whole build with all the custom parts took about 3 months total. We sent our private truck and trailer to deliver the car back to the customer last week, and he has been enjoying it on a nightly basis so far.

Mod List:
*TSM Custom Compression 3.8 Engine
*Head Package
-Kelford Springs
-Kelford C Cams
-TSM Port work
*ETS GTX30R Turbo Kit
*ETS Race FMIC
*AAM Y-Pipe
*AAM Exhaust
*ID1000 Injectors
*Cobb AP*Custom Tuned @ TSM
*Shep Trans ProMax

RESULTS: 60-130 ON PUMP! - 4.41 Seconds
*Didn't have time to run it on race before delivery

Overlaid Dyno Graphs:
(Remember we ran out of fuel on race gas due to the 1000cc injectors...the car had a lot more in it) Pump @ 26 PSIRace @ 30.5 PSI[color=#BCBCBC]

A long time ago NAGTROC member RENNtech (JJ) approached us with a dyno appointment. Sadly the day of his appointment we lost power and failed to contact JJ in time to let him know not to make the long drive out here. Obviously upset JJ left AMS with a bad taste in his mouth.

Fast forward about a year later and JJ was looking to make some waves with his 2012 GT-R. He was looking for a very streetable but powerful package. JJ actually contacted NAGTROC's very own VegasGTR (Sam.) Sam helped convince JJ to give us another chance and to work with me on a build being that he was a part time Chicagoland resident. We were grateful for the opportunity to make up for our failed previous efforts.

Well this story has a happy ending!

I worked with JJ on taking his currently modified GT-R and converting it over to our newly revised ALPHA 9 package. In addition to our basic package we upgraded JJ to our full 3.8L Long block with ALPHA cams, ALPHA Race FMIC, Akrapovic exhaust and a tried and true ShepTrans stage 2.5 trans upgrade.

To say the result was successful would be an understatement.

On pump gas Chris was able to extract 820whp and 711ft lbs of torque
On race gas Chris pulled out a mind bending 915whp and 826 ft lbs of torque!

The race gas numbers are officially the highest we have ever made on our ALPHA 9 package

JJ, we know that you had a lot of choices when it came to upgrading your GT-R and we are honored you chose us. We hope the car turns out to be everything you had hoped it would be and wish you years of problem free, safe and fun operation.

Have a fun drive down to the sunshine state

Special thanks to VegasGTR as well!
1100+ WHP Self Built and Tuned

I started a build for a high horsepower car back in July. I contacted many companies speaking to them about having a reinforced block built, turbo kit, and fuel system. I couldn't help but remember that Tony at T1 helped me without any of my business. I decided that if Tony helped me so much without my business, what would he do if he did have my business... My decision was made. I am extremely happy with the service I received from Tony and everyone at T1. I pulled my engine and shipped it to him and after he received it, he continually kept me up to date along with sending me pictures. By far, the best experience I ever had in building a car and dealing with a company! I can't thank you enough Tony. You and everyone at T1has treated me like a friend instead of a customer!!!

The mods are:
T1 4.0 Liter Reinforced Block with upgraded heads and cams
ETS Turbo Kit HTA3586s sold by T1
T1 Triple In-tank Fuel Pump System along with FPR kit.
T1 diff brace
DSS Rear axles
Supporting mods for this power that don't need to be mentioned.

A year before John Shepherd built me basically a 3.5 stage transmission. It was a stage 3 with promax clutches. It only has a 1st gear ppg. I would also like to thank him for the best customer service and help he provided me. He built me a DSM transmission many years ago and was excited to have him build this transmission.

The car made 1129 whp and 950 torque on a AWD mustang dyno with it SPINNING LIKE CRAZY and tuned by me. Two weekends ago I ran at a 1/8 mile track here in Chattanooga, TN with a time of 6.19 at 126mph. This was only my third pass with this setup and had to leave for work. This car screams and I am still trying to get use to it. This past weekend Billy_06EVOIV and I went to Steele, AL which is a 1/4 mile track. My third pass was 9.3 at 155mph (1/8 mile mph was 130), but I didn't know the track and my buddy told me from the videos I let out and hit the brake before the 1/4 mile marker, hahahaha. I felt like a newb, but at that mph and trying to hold the car in the road, it is difficult to tell what is going on. The fourth pass, I added boost to 1st and 2nd gear because I was running on low trying to get traction and the car was bogging. This is when the axle stub snapped that goes into the diff. Thank you Billy for the haul home!!!! It damaged the diff housing and the DSS axle when it let go. I am in the process of removing the transmission to get it back to John which he will add 2-6 gears also. Then will get it back in and definitely go for some faster times Hopefully.

Here is a list of people that I would like to thank!!!
Justin Baier - assisted me in installing
Byron Poe - assisted me in installing
Mike Tracey - hauling my car back and forth to Porsche (Dad works there and got to use the lift)
Tony at T1 - for putting up with me and selling me everything along with taking the time and never getting frustrated with answering my questions!!!!!!!!
John Shepherd - building my transmission and putting up with me!!!!!!
George Aslinger (Owner of Custom Concept Motorsports in Chattanooga, TN) - the time on the AWD mustang dyno and helping me with the troubleshooting with the small problems I had while dialing everything in.

Other friends that supported me and kept me motivated me... Mitch Bryant and his brother Mark, and Alan.

The graph shows the boost falling off and the torque falling because of the boost. The boost was not falling because of the turbos. I accidentally forgot that I had my max boost limit at 38 pounds in the software. It now holds 40 consistently and can/will go higher!!!! The dyno video shows it running rich (I am aware, this was the best video though), it has been leaned out some and when Cobb releases the injector angle maps for ATR, it will be better!

"<ahttp://vimeo.com">Vimeo.
Videos and Dyno sheet will be added later today.

View attachment: gtr1129hp.jpg

The car was reassembled by a shop out here on long island named R-A-D (Real Auto Dynamics).	The put her back together, got it running and feeling good. With random issues here and there, (Bad o2 Sensor and faulty Cam Position Solenoid), the car finally was brought out to Sean Ivey to get its tune.	Car was all ready to go and unfortunately Hurricane Sandy had to roll threw and take out all the power, and cause all these headaches.	Today Sean called me letting me know she was strapped on the dyno and he was going to work on her. Hitting me up with frequent updates and thoughts on the car i just got more and more satisfied with the results. The car does not have a gearset or promax, so i told him i wanted to stop in the 1000-1050 area.	He broke a 1000 at around 29psi and i said on the dyno we can go a little further but ill leave the car around 29-30psi at max for my passes and race setting, and then we did a 22 psi map which is around 850-875 whp for my daily setting, which i baby my car most of the time i drive it.

Sean said the stroker motor and this turbo setup, the car comes on very hard and early. The turbos lite up extremely fast and its definitely going to be a blast to drive on the street.	Hopefully i will be able to get out there because they have a track rental setup on monday and i was hoping maybe to get a pass or two in, get some times and maybe vbox the car.	Anyways just wanted to share the news.

Big Thank You To:

RAD (Real Auto Dynamics - Alex & Rodney & Crew)
Ivey Tune (Sean Ivey & Crew)
Boost Logic (Zohair & Crew)
AAM (Mike & Crew, Your Fuel System Is Dominant)
Jimmy @ TheShopCT for the set of wheels and helping me out
Doug @ WGP (Thanks for working with Shep and getting that trans for me)

*** This Pull was @ 33psi ***

Thanks

Mark

Hello NAGTROC! We @ RD Engineering would like to share our current GTR project with you.
We would also like to introduce ourselves to the community as we are new to the NAGTROC club. Who is RD Engineering? Founded in 2004 (located in Oxnard, CA), RD Engineering is a Hi Performance Automotive group specializing in Engine Management. Our knowledge and experience with hi performance mechanics and tuning EFI systems goes back further, about 15 Years. What have we experienced? Leading up to the arrival of the GTR in the US, we have focused our time and still currently tuning anything from the Mitsubishi Evolution to forced induction LS series GM cars. As much as we would like to say we mainly focus on tuning EFI systems we simply can't. We can not stay away from the love of what got this whole thing started... mechanics! As some of us here @ RD Engineering have much experience and a long history in Mechanical Engineering. So we continue to challenge ourselves with engine builds such as the VR38 and everything that comes with it as you will experience in this build. Just a short introduction to get things started. Feel free to PM me if you have any RDE specific questions you might need answered.

Now lets get to the build, which is nothing new on these pages.

The car: 2009 GTR

The Owner: Roy Narvaez

We are currently sponsoring Roy's GTR as he has been competing in the Global Time Attack series. http://www.globaltim...rd-engineering/

The goal for the build was a reliable 700whp and close to 600wtq in attempt to keep the stock transmission together. The extra power was requested to help the car be a bit more competitive for competition. Roy also requested the set up to be very streetable for daily use. Currently the car is tuned for 91 octane with what i call the standard bolt ons and stock turbos @ 590whp/580wtq if i remember correclty (Dynapak). Roy also gave us the challenge of maintaining the use of 91 octane as he plans to only use this type of fuel exclusively (Pump gas is not very forgiving in California). We Shall introduce him to E85 some day ;)

What we plan to use in this build:

- "RD Engineering" Spec CP Pistons (Stock Bore)
- Carillo Rods
- Kelford Cams
- ETS GTX30R turbo Kit. (very excited about this)

Note: We are a bit ahead of what we are presenting and i will try and keep this thread updated as the build continues. Time has been tight. thanks

Here we start by removing the engine:

View attachment: photo (1).PNG

Disassembly ...

Be back with more, Stay tuned...

UPDATE: Dyno results

794whp / 606wtq

Because I have dealt with enough "chicken-shit" products in the automobile industry, which were all advertising but no delivery, so I decide to name the build this way to keep myself (maybe you too) stay away from "chicken-$hit" stuff.

Exterior:
BenSopra Full Body Kit
BenSopra GT wing
Seibon Dry Carbon doors
Seibon Carbon Fiber door sills
Seibon Carbon Fiber door sill trims
Seibon Carbon Fiber cooling panel set
Seibon Carbon Fiber engine cover
AMS Performance Dry Carbon roof
AMS Performance Dry Carbon trunk
Sparco trunk latches
AeroCatch flush mount hood pins

Interior:
MCR steering wheel set up

Chassis and brake set up:
R’s Tuning camber arms
Carbon Ceramic Discs by Weapons Grade Performance
Endless brake lines
Endless CCM brake pads
Motul RBF660 brake fluid

Engine performance:
Switzer P800 Turbo Kit
Cobb AP005
SP Engineering dyno tune
HKS Downpipe
HKS Resonated Y-pipe
ID1000
Motul 300V mix-match according to weather

Wheels and Tires:
Volks RE30 Flat Black 19x11 ET25
Volks RE30 Formula Silver 19x11 ET20
Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 345/30/19

Custom parts by R’s Tuning:

Thank you to all of our sponsors who help us to make this build happened!
Mackin Industry http://www.mackin-ind.com/
Yokohama http://www.yokohamatire.com/
Seibon Carbon http://seiboncarbon.com/
BenSopra Japan http://bensopra.com/
ACG San Diego http://www.execstudio.com/
SP Engineering http://www.sp-power.com/
Weapons Grade Performance http://www.facebook....radePerformance
JDM Auto Link http://www.jdmautolink.com/
Plastics 4 Performance http://www.lexan-windows.com/
AMS Performance http://www.amsperformance.com/

*If you are interested in becoming sponsor of the build, please contact me at Ricky@TheRsTuning.com for more information.*

Zac, the wait is over The ALPHA 10 service on your 2012 GT-R is complete and shes ready to be picked up!

A little while ago Zac walked into our showroom inquiring about doing an ALPHA 9 package to his new 2012 GT-R. We talked over the options and in addition to the ALPHA 9 estimate I gave him he also wanted an ALPHA 9 to 10 estimate. After showing his wife the info she replied with "well why don't you just do ALPHA 10 in the first place and save some money doing it twice?" Talk about a keeper!

Shortly after that Zac confirmed the build and Tim Salefski our in house engine builder began working up an engine for him. Zac then dropped his baby off and our technician Eric Jones was put to work. The slated modifications for the car were as follows:

AMS ALPHA 10 Turbo kit
AMS ALPHA 3.8 Race engine
AMS CNC ported ALPHA cylinder heads
AMS Spec ALPHA cams by Kelford
AMS ALPHA fuel system and injectors
AMS ALPHA fuel rail kit with regulator
AMS Spec Exhaust including HKS Legamax rear section
AMS Front mount intercooler
AMS ALPHA induction kit with MAP sensors
AMS Spec Shep Trans ALPHA 10 transmission service
Dodson Pro Max clutch kit
AMS CF roof
Volk Te37 Super laps and M&H drag radials (Track wheels)
PWJDM rear carbon seat deletes

Here are some build shots

ALPHA 10 Turbo system

ALPHA Fuel Rail kit being installed

ALPHA 10 Engine complete and ready to make power

AMS Carbon fiber roof, it looks so clean in person

Time for Chris and Mitch to go to work

Chicago land residents if you see this in your mirror, please move over

Our guys hard at work cleaning Badfish for delivery

A common view for most in the days to come

All Done!

On the schedule of future things to do Zac and his wife has a SLEW of CF goodies waiting for the car many of which are inbound from Japan.

It all translates into one super unique and VERY fast GT-R

Final WHP numbers were pretty impressive.

ON a very conservative 93 octane in some pretty nasty heat on the pump gas file was just shy of800WHP!
On an equally conservative C16 race gas file at only 29lbs 1029WHP!!!

%20http://amsperformance.com/amsperformanceimages/16/AMS_Alpha_10_Dyno_Chart_2012_GM_1000x667.jpg

Zac and his wife have so aptly named this car Badfish after the very well known Sublime song.

In the words of Zac

"The song is about love and addiction. In our case we are in love with the GT-R and addicted to the exhilarating feeling of acceleration. A Badfish is slang for a person who introduces someone else to something addicting.
