Recently bought a Black GTR. Really want to repaint it/ color change. Anyone do it and how much did you pay. Last time I had a car painted (white to Gunmetal) it was about 2500. That was in 2001.

Hi guys I'll be hitting the key to my stage 3 Cobb tune tomorrow, what birthday and Christmas gift I cant wait. The cobb map looks like I'm supposed to gain 44 more max hp and around 33 max torque. What do you guys think of aam competition, I've been talk with mike there and I have paid them for a tune. They mentioned logging and sending them the tune. I like that idea rather than just the cobb ots tune. I mean it will work, but I'm thinking aam competition will do a better job. I red some place a whole back that there tunes are amazing, even after the guys at alpha dyno a gtr with one of there tunes.
Basically I was impressed with what I read. So I paid them for a tune. At 800usd i didnt mind. I also mentioned it's the holiday and i had a few parts to install still.
Tomorrow it's the upgraded fuel pumps and I'm done. Guess I'll have time to drive it with the cobb stage 3 tune for a little while, it will be a great comparison after I flash the aam competition tune. I will report back with the comparison.
Anyone used them for tunes that can chime in.?

Midpipe comparison: Cobb vs HKS resonated

hey guys, just another comparison review that might help someone with choosing midpipes. I recently had a weird incident with my 4yr old Cobb midpies that suddenly detached overnight (claims to be from salt/rust build up) more info in this thread: https://www.gtrlife.com/forums/topic/314758-solved-destroyed-midpipe-lol/?fromsearch=1

I was very sad having to replace my cobb midpipe, since the exhaust combo I had on was PERFECT, not loud when crusing, no drone, LOUD at wot.
Exhaust combo: Alpha 90mm catless dp, Cobb 90mm catted mp (now replaced with HKS Res), and HKS legamax

A well known local Tuner/racer advised me to go with the HKS 85mm Resonated midpipes (fyi catless), as he has them on all 4 of his GT-Rs, not obnoxious loud, no drone etc.. so i did.

Just got the car back and will be doing a full video comparison soon (startup, rev, acceleration in/out).

Here's my feedback so far: note *I HATE drone, and ricey loud exhaust..so my review is based on that.

First difference i noticed with the HKS mp, is the start up. That deep loud start you feel underneath the car is no longer there, the sound now mostly comes from the rear.(Cobb wins for startup).

Next is cruising, HKS is way more quiet, but in a good way. The Cobb wasn't obnoxiously loud at all, but it would be difficult to talk on bluetooth calls. (HKS wins cruising)

Third noticeable difference, DOWNSHIFTS. Cobb had that loud deep downshift, unlike the HKS, which sadly is not as loud. (Cobb wins downshift).
To me, the above 3 were mostly noticeable changes.

Acceleration, both are loud at WOT with that nice tone, not the raspy/ricey sounding type. With the HKS, there's that smoother/more power-pull feeling compared to Cobb. (HKS wins WOT)

Revving, when sitting in the car, same remarks as starup, the Cobb had that deeper/louder sound feeling from underneath. Hearing the revs from outside, I only did a video, and doesn't do justice .. but sounds like HKS is "muffled" at low rpm revving, but opens up nicely on higher rpms. I need to do more videos to answer which is better IMHO. (Cobb/HKS Draw)

Jerky in stop and go traffic?

Just picked up a FBO E85 flexfuel gtr 2015. In stop and go traffic it would make noise and become jerky. I know noise is normal but the jerking is weird and freaking me out. If I let off the brake and lightly press the gas is when it happens

Greddy DCT cooler cut out

Hello guys. I just installed my greddy dtc transmission cooler for my 2017 gtr. It's all good, but I'm wondering if any one has the cut out pattern for the front left side of the bumper. I like the fact that the other side will be functional now, but I'm nervous to cut the bumper to let the air through. The air duct doesn't look exactly like the right side, so I'm thinking, it's not the same. Can anyone help me out.

BOV boost goes off before redline

I don't know if this is the right area to post but, I recently required a fully FBO 15 GTR with E85. Lately my HKS bov have been going off before redline and destroying my acceleration. Any ideas why?
