There are rumors that NISSAN is reported to be working on a new platform for the new Z35.
The new car will be powered by the new VR30DETT and will have around 400hp, or even a hybrid setup with a smaller engine.

The car is expected to debut at the next Tokyo Motor Show 2017 and go into production in 2018.

We do observe a trend that sportscar consumers buy horsepower. Even if a car handles mediocrely, if it has plenty of power and is priced right, it sells.

Currently a challenge with Japanese sportscars is that they don't offer as many horses as the American competitors. I would love to see the new Fairlady Z offering a lot of horses for its price range.

The ES FLOW concept resembles to some Z design lines although latest reports say it will be based on a shortened version of the Q60 coupe platform.

As a current owner of a 370z, it definitely needs an update. I LOVE the current gen looks and curves but I know when time is time to move on and update. Rumors are they will bring it out for '18 year late in '17.

I owned a 2012 and I think the looks are still sharp, but it needs that new 3.0TT to be competitive.

Nissan will move one step closer to replacing the 370Z when it debuts its latest Z-car as a concept at October’s Tokyo Motor Show.

In production since 2009, the 370Z is in dire need of a comprehensive update and Car and Driver reports that’s exactly what it will receive.

On a styling front, the new Z concept will adopt a very edgy design language and draw on the 2017 facelifted GT-R for some inspiration, including its adopting of a gaping wide front grille. The proportions of the car will remain similar to the 370Z but a different roofline, tailgate and hood will make the new model instantly identifiable.

In terms of engines, it is reported that the model may receive three different options. These will start with an entry-level 3.0-liter V6 churning out 300 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque as well as the same VR30DETT twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 from the Infiniti Q60 Red Sport delivering 400 hp at 6,400 rpm and 350 lb-ft at 1,600 rpm. Both of these engines may be offered exclusively alongside a seven-speed dual-clutch seven-speed.

Nissan may then decide to top out the range with a hybrid variant. It is reported that such a version could use the entry-level V6 and mate it to an electric motor to lift power towards the 500 hp mark.

If this sounds like your perfect sports car then start saving, as it is due to arrive in showrooms by 2019.

Another Japanese press rendering with references to the classic 240Z, GRIPZ Concept and NISSAN's design language.

very excited for a new Z, if they keep the weight down and 400+ hp I will buy. As long as they dont fk up the styling.  A new design with 240 hints would be ideal.

Its what it seems is coming....
If you noticed the trailer during the GRIPZ concept release, they showed a 240Z and the rear ducktail design indicates the influence.
I have no doubt it will follow this path.
The engine 99% will be the VR30DETT found in the Infinii Q60 coupe in its 300 & 400hp figure configuration. And definetely a nismo version.
I just wish they bring back the Z32 300ZX design elements adapted to today's language. Low, wide, with those headlights...

Hello all,

After the latest information and rumors around a new Z concept to be introduced at the next Tokyo Motor Show, i designed a concept based on the Infiniti Q60S Coupe, influenced by the previous Z models, especially the Z32 300ZX, the 240Z, and the ES Flow and GRIPZ concepts.
Powered by the newly introduced 400hp VR30DETT Twin Turbo V6, RWD, the Fairlady 400ZX (Z35) Concept.
