Trying to post a classified listing and it says I cannot.  It will be my first post.  Please advise?  I've tried Chrome and now Explorer and no luck.  The icon remains unclickable

yes 25 posts are required to participate in the marketplace.    marketplace descriptions have been updated to more clearly state this

I was allowed to post there with under 25 posts but it is now locked. Why not just remove it rather than having a broken post where I can modify it?

25 post seems a little excessive.

25 post seems a little excessive.

25 posts is the bare freaking minimum.

it used to be that posts would be reviewed one by one by mods before even going live, this is incredibly lenient. the number of scammers on the go is too high as is to allow it to be even easier to make throwaway accounts.

The effort to make 25 posts is the minimal deterrent... if there was no deterrent at all, I can imagine what a shit show the classifieds would become

25 posts is excessive?

It seems to be working as deterrent (for some potential scammers) if some already think that.

i can imagine the shit show if the GTR was like a honda but the owners and members i'm sure is of a different class of people.  maybe verifying phone numbers or emails would be a great idea for the classified requirements.

i'v looked threw some of these threads and i'v seen people make 25 post out of 2 sentences. to weed out scammers you should be PayPal verified or cellphone verified.  what are your thoughts on that?

This is just an opinion...All of the above criteria apply and should be used together in the verification process. The 25 posts on the back end could provide a larger sample size of data for other purposes from a tech forensic standpoint. It can seem like an inconvenience to a new user but also does the same for those with ill intentions. Between 25 posts and zero posts, zero posts is not much to work with. Nothing is foolproof but it beats the previous method of posting classifieds.
