Does the polishing compound like turtle wax work on really light scratches on the roof? It looks like someone put like a paper cup on the roof or something and dragged it off. I have the scratch shield paint but I dont think it is fixing itself and not sure if this $5 polishing compound would work. Thanks.

If you're applying by hand I think any kind of compound would be too rough and may cause hazing.

Try a cleaner wax that has mild abrasives to see if it makes then fade away a bit. Or you can try some meguiars ultimate polish.

Meguiar's A1216 Cleaner Wax - Liquid - 16 oz. https://www.amazon.c...a_pEEiAbA4MT9R8

Meguiar's G19216 Ultimate Polish - 16 oz. https://www.amazon.c...a_YEEiAb5YJ8EDB

If you're doing this by hand you're quite limited.

Try picking this up to go along with the polish.
Chemical Guys BUFX_204 Hex-logic Hand Applicator Pad Kit https://www.amazon.c...a_FCEiAbKWNN7BN

Ideally you should machine polish it.

You can try by hand using Meguiar's M105 Ultra-Cut Compound, but may need to do with a yellow pad on a DA if scratches are too deep.  If that doesn't work then you can wet sand with 2000 and then M105 on a yellow pad with DA.  Polish out with Meguiar's M205 and a white pad.  Had to do the wet sanding with 2000 on my front bumper due to deep scratches.  I got all the scratches, but one that was too deep.

Can you show us a picture of what it looks like? Might be best to have a polisher and some glaze used on it, instead of trying by hand when you haven't done it before. I could probably have my detailer give it a go if you can get down to me during business hours? I'm in Brockton, I know your not too too far from me.

Thanks Tim. I will try to take some pictures but you guys will laugh at me because it is really light but you see it when you get into the pssenger seat at a certain angle with certain lighting but the level of the roof of the GTR is low so you see it. Argh. I swear Im just gonna drive a used car from now on ;)

Hard to tell without pictures. If its a light scratch a compound or moderate polish would work but once you compound, be sure to polish out the compound haze afterwards.

Look on YouTube under chemical guys and they have different compounds to take out scratches.

I second the Meguiars Ultimate Compound (G3501). I work at a metal finishing plant and, even though all of the exhaust and stacks are filtered, there is still an acidic residue that drops on the cars in the lot. Sun then burns it into the clear coat. See the attached pic for a compound vs nothing (except a wash).
