Has anyone found a way via switch to open and close the factory exhaust valve in the 17&18s without putting the car in “R” mode? Figured it would be nice to have the exhaust on an independent switch. Thank you! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Also, there is a truck open button on the truck lid ..just feel for it ;)

Trunk lid button I know of, the exhaust button I had no idea. Although I just bought the car a couple days ago.

This is similar to the trunk pop switch or the door handle manual key hole that many owners didn’t even know was there.

Honestly it only makes a big difference on cold start. I just leave it open permanently cuz louder is cooler especially in an underground garage ;)

There has to be a way to bypass what it does and just make it open when off and close when on. Or whatever it is. And do that no matter what, drive, park, Neutral, etc.

Exactly. This is what I am after. It’s nice that it’s there but I messed with it and it seems pretty useless because the valve still only opens after 2800rpm. I want to be able to open it all the time no matter what kind of driving. Maybe I’ll just say fuck it and get an exhaust.

When you flip the switch I believe up the Active Exhaust Control is off you will hear the car more than when its on

When its on the valve is closed below 2850 rpm and is closed as long as you do not have anything set in the r mode or dont go over 2850 rpm.

You will notice if you idle the car flip the switch and go out back you will notice the exhaust not coming out the left side, then flip it the other way and you will have Exhaust coming from both sides

Yeah the switch is really to quiet the car down during cold start and under 3k rpm for like when your pulling into your neighborhood.

Any “R” mode switch on and the valve is always open, PLUS the “ASE” active sound exhaust set up is on where it pumps out sound through the speakers. A little artificial but I like it. It was a feature introduced on the 2017 GTR

I wonder if you can somehow add the valves into a aftermarket catback

I replaced my stock Midpipe with a non-res version and the car sounded real good. I just replaced my stock TI exhaust with a 4 inch fad worx custom valvetronic exhaust system and love the new sound. The sound is better ,deeper bass sound and I control the valve .You will need the valve Delete module or you will need a tuned ,get it From VividRacing Jameses . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
