I have a deposit on a C8 but delivery probably wouldn't be until sometime next year, assuming not another shutdown. But I'm thinking once we've had almost of year of C8 Stingray deliveries, there will be markdowns on new, and then there is the used market. So I may cancel that deposit and wait it out, or get a used GT-R.

I think the biggest long term challenge (in Cali) is going to be smogging this thing if it's modified.  They are tougher and tougher on this stuff and I think a lot more people will be moving out of this crazy state.

That blue vette is gorgeous.

Do you & your family a favor and get out of California. That state has gone to shit.

The Bros FOURR speed YouTube channel did a comparison. He drove a C8 and gave his impressions, then he let the C8 owner drive his GT-R and do the same.

The FBO GT-R is obviously faster, but the C8 reportedly had quicker shifts, mag ride can actually make ride quite pleasant and the mid engine makes it feel more neutral in the corners.

The C8 also has some cool tech IMO with the PDR, auto nose lift and the video mirror but they they didnt really dive in that deep, in the video, more just driving impressions and a quick race.

Thanks, just saw this. I expect the Z06 to dominate a FBO GTR

Anyone know how the C8 handles? The c7 Z06 was a bit wild from 0-60.

Really would like an opinion from someone in the GTR community whose driven one

You expect a z06 to dominate a FBO GTR ? Based on what ? lol, on paper the current Z06 should dominate a FBO GTR and it doesn’t lol. We can circle back in 2 or 3 years when it’s released and I’m sure Tesla will be wiping everyone’s ass by then. Hahaha
TSM Billet Crank 4.1 w/ CP billet pistons, TSM Elite Prime turbos, TSM Wet Sump Oling upgrade, flex fuel, ETS mid and down pipe, STM titanium axle back, STM race FMIC, ID2000s, Shep One K with drop gears and all the goodies., DS Axles, Volk Saga 18 10/12 (MT ET Streets), Advan GT Premium 20 R888. 1450+ hp / 1210+ tq

Old setups : Alpha 9 w/ AMS 3.8, GTX3582R Gen II w/ AMS 4.1 billet crank, GTX3582R Gen II w/ AMS 4.0 big bore billet crank and of course FBO E85.

Its hard to not think it will.. if it doesnt it should be awfully close. The stingray stock doesnt due too bad against it (based off of videos posted). Ive asked for opinions from Cicio & ETS but no response yet

Im a GTR fan but I would be lying if I said the C8 Z06 doesnt have my attention. Especially if its priced the same as a GTR

Sure if you throw some turbos on the C8 will it out perform. Sending it to Cicio doesn’t make it an apples to apples comparison. It’s a great car as is, but not earth shattering performance and no release dates for anything other than whats out there now. Heck the M8 is a land boat and walks it hard and the AWD M3/M4 will be the new RS3 which was the new GTR in the straight. Model S’s will be in the 9’s by the time the Z06 comes out. All the new cars coming out will make sure it’s not earth shattering. One thing for sure, it’s a great time to be driving. P.S. if you can’t tell I’m a little jaded because I cannot fit in the damn thing .... hahah

And the GTR is so long in the tooth and archaic these days. But if you build it, there is still nothing better on the market in my honest opinion hahha.

Probably no one better to ask than Jan or Cicio to be honest. Platform has some limits which they are finding fairly quickly. I think a TT setup on the C8 is going to be a great setup but at some point you will suffer from lack of traction / AWD - even the Macs do. For that cost though you can build a 1400+ hp GTR and you won’t see tail lights unless you live in a serious hotbed of car enthusiasts. ZR1 (if and whenever it is released) is supposedly a hybrid AWD setup but I wouldn’t hold my breath. GM as with every other car maker but maybe Tesla is hurting these days.

Car looks real nice in person ,the carbon fiber seats are beautiful. My personal opinion they need to make the doors to go up also it needs better exhaust tips and the car is screaming for a wide body .For 60k is a steal c429e7bb277886771e2dfcab12afd8ae.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
