I know many of you have been asking for some 1/4 mile data on our ELITE Gateway turbos.

Well the wait is finally over as we had a few C800 cars we put together down in NC at an event.

One of our customers ran [email protected] on the third ever pass with the car!

He was beyond stoked to say the least!

We had another Gateway car run [email protected] in full street trim.

Stock engine and trans.

The biggest difference in the two cars was the 60'

The car that ran 9.6 had a bias ply tire while the 9.9 was a radial.

We didn't launch the cars much differently.

Both have more to go but they had a blast running the numbers they ran so we left them there.

Not sure if you saw my other post but both these passes are on a completely stock engine making 800whp.

Full weight as well.

The shep 2.5 car wasn't turned up anymore than the stock trans car.

I haven't seen many stock engine cars running mid 9s but I'm open to see other results

What was the DA? 109mph in the 1/8th and 139mph seems a bit low. Seen many 800ish whp setups on stock engine and trans trapping 143-145mph. Top end seems kind of weak. Ive trapped 108mph in the 1/8th making 620/620.

Agreed. The ET is impressive but that trap doesn't represent a true 800whp.

RDE800 [email protected](stock motor, slightly modified trans like yours)

To be fair, this car was far from stock and was stripped...

-RDE 800 Turbo upgrade

-Stock intercooler and piping/bypass valves

-Stage 4 Shep w/ Wavetrac, DSS axles

-RDE Drag suspension

-T1 17" FR 15" R drag wheel package, including the Carbon rotors

-Race weight 3500 w/ Driver

its probably watered down cause of warranty, i know a couple trapping 141-143mph on 94 depending on DA

I would sacrifice a few mph of trap speed any day for a full weight, fully equipped, streetable car with warranty/reliability and all of the luxuries associated with a stock car right off the dealership lot.

Not sure I'd say it's a must.  Seems like it clearly helps getting out of the hole but uncertain it'll matter than much on highway pulls.  The  two dyno slips showed only a 2 mph difference between the two setups...which is easily within the margin of error for even the same car making two runs.

For me I saw no point in upgrading the transmission because that would put me on the slippery slope to a built motor sooner than what I had in mind for this stage.  A Prime R turbo (or whatever the latest technology is at the time) is in the future with accompanying mods. ;-)

This is why I passed on this turbo package, not that it doesn’t work well but at 20k installed and tuned to pickup this level of improvement just doesn’t  seem worth it.  I’ll save my money and go with a bigger build.

Mostly a big difference on top end. 100-150mph is probably close to 2 seconds faster than FBO e85.
Would like to see a car with this package race a FBO e85 gtr from 40-180mph.

I agree 100% I know the numbers should be the selling point for this turbo but there’s nothing going to beat visually seeing the difference between FBO E85 vs upgraded turbo on E85...
