Video from morning run at Road America:

Also, had a misfire develop in the afternoon run, we will be no higher than 5th, but we will report later when we figure out where we are.

Jon

Yup, 5th. I think that still leave you guys in the overall lead by 10 pts. Good luck tomorrow!

Chapman philosophy: simplify, then add lightness.

Mizuno philosophy: add convenience and technology to gain confidence behind the wheel; make a GT car that's faster than every sports car.

Tied for the lead, 10 points ahead of Leh.

Look at the bright side.. the GTR is so cool, two of them can lead at once.

Another win for the Cannonball GTR will have to wait another year.

We wish Catesby the best, and hope to see him kick some ass this week in his GTR.

Misfire surfaced again on Recon lap. That is all I know right now.

As a point of interest on RA in 2008 the Viper ACR was still 6 secs faster than Leh Keen in the GT2 in 2010. Track weather and track conditions were app the same.

ACR>GT2>GT-r>Vette at RA. In 2009 we were still not as fast as the Viper ACR @ BeavRun the only track in common with 2008, I excluded CMP as the track was wet in 2009 and very slick.

Will be interesting to see how the class of 2010 stacks up against the Viper ACR times from 2008 @ MAM.

It was COLD in 2008, and cloudy. This year it was probably 20' warmer and sunny. Doesn't matter, that Viper was fast.

Well congrats on the first two events guys, its unfortunate you don't get to finish but you have nothing to be ashamed of!

Maybe Catesby will take the win this year and keep the GTR on top ;)

Ok, so.. because you guys are great support, and we don't want your work productivity to go up, we are still going to give you something to follow this week.

It won't be a GTR, but it will be a 1999 Subaru Impreza 2.5 RS.

The only bad thing about it is my new sponsor, The US Army Special Operations Recruiting Battalion, hasn't wrapped the car yet but we are still going to have some Continental tires on it, and hopefully our low powered car can put in some overachieving results.

stay tuned...

Is this the same configuration of RA that they ran in 08. I see the turn after the carousel isn't the normal high speed right kink

Yes, One Lap doesn't run the kink, as the experienced is mixed and with no practice, the risk is more than the reward, so Brock has us run the "bend" which is the motorcycle chicane.

Viper is still fast, 4 sec faster @ MAM in 2008 the GT2 in 2010.

Cool and partly cloudy in 08 not COLD.

As an aside an 1988 civic with a K motor swap was 7th in the am and 8th in the pm @ MAM. AutoX'rs rule. :irock:

(All in RRR mode) Stage....brake to the floor (hard)....throttle to the floor (hard...it should raise the RPM's to a little above 3000. If not, release throttle and jam it down hard again)....when light = "green", release brake. Shift 300-400 shy of redline.

At least, that's what others have gotten good results doing.

The Subaru is ready to go in the parking lot of a St. Louis hotel, and this is how it looked with its new wheels and tires at the Tire Rack this afternoon:
