Not sure if you are grouping HRE Wheels in with so called "Boutique Wheel" brands?

I was not referring to HRE when I stated "boutique wheels". HRE has made a solid name for their wheels. IMO HRE is as tried and true and Volk, BBS or any other top name brand.
You guys gotta come down on those carbon wheel prices though. (but thats another topic)

I prefer the carbon wheel prices to stay high for the exclusivity. Lifts the brand of the HRE higher. I'm not saying I'll buy them but just saying I prefer them to be really un-affordable for most.

theeddie - The 547R was not replaced by the 597R due to structural issues and they were not "prone to bending" as you stated. That is false information. At HRE Wheels we are always trying to eveolve our product line to be the best it can be and in the process the new product in turn retires the old product. This was the case here. If you have further question please feel free to PM me.

Years ago, the original 547s had issues with hairline cracks at the thinest area on the spokes. As I recall, HRE contacted the owners and initiated a replacement campaign for the affected wheels proactively. HRE continued to produce the 547, but I believe with a slightly revised structural design. I haven't heard of any issues since.

i sent mine in and they charged me $1000 for a new center. Which i paid of course, Since i had no other option. they said my crack/bend was road hazard. I knew about the recall but they didnt offer any warranty or replacement. this is just my personal experience

Op hasn't lost litigation yet so he still might end up on top. But cor's reputation has been tarnished and I'm sure many potential sales have been lost due to this incident. Cor was on my list but I scratched them out. I'm sure many more people feel like I do.

Yep, same here

So what was the consensus on COR wheels? I'm considering a used set (800 miles) for my 650S.. but if the quality is still questionable I am going to pass... I really like the look of the wheels. Just want to make sure they are strong enough for track and hard use..... Has COR gotten any better quality wise?
