In light of some thread that have been posted I would like to make fellow members aware of some really important news regarding imported parts from the far east.
US Customs and Border Protection has a specialized task force for imported parts from the far east, reason for this is counterfeit parts and also non compliant EPA/DOT parts for road cars, Any import ocean container or Airmail parcel will can can be flagged for inspections. in this case its happening way more often and its gotten to be where everything is flagged for inspections now.
So if you have a part that the a vendor is trying to supply to you and its held up this is can be the case for the delay,
Seller has a big responsibility's when selling anything anywhere:
Describing, Features and its Condition.
Describing time for delivery
cash or credit card
A buyers question that is a must to ask
IS IT IN STOCK ?
IF ITS NOT IN STOCK HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE ?
IF its a USED ITEM , ask why , ask who , ask when ?
Credit card info : paypal & credit cards.
Sellers/Vendors - no one wants a charge back here is how to protect your self
1) Written form documentation stating cost, delivery time and condition it is sold as ? whatever.
2) Should you get payment via paypal do know that the buyer has up to 45days to dispute a charge.
That means if the buyer gets the item and has received it they can open up a dispute at any time up until 45days & 180days with AMEX
so make sure you know the person you taking paypal payment from.
3) If you as a seller don't trust the buyer then take a cash payment along with paper work stating all of the details and have it notarized.
Its a very long and drawn out process to deal with a charge back.
