Great stuff and congrats. They seem to make great power by 4000 so you can pretty much roll into any gear.

Trap speeds and 60-130/50-150 when you get the summer tires on.

Summer tires on. Hooks much better now on the street. Feels just as responsive as I was on fbo e85 and really more so with that crazy torque curve. Makes any errand an event.

I don’t like tickets so likely will need to wait to a private track rental on May 28th to get those performance numbers. Going to try to make it our sooner but next few weekends are tough for me.

Reply to post #14, thanks.  Yeah dyno results look good but I can't wait to get to the track to verify with traps and ET.  I understand there is a new "stock cover" class at GTR world cup and TX2K that these would be good for.  I am not much about serious competition and the weight and creature comforts shedding that goes with that but am happy that the stock manifold class is being broken up more now given the much wider range of products in the category now.

What happened to your last engine ?

Nothing “happened to it”. I originally built it as a bottom end only with a mild cam always intending to do the top end later. Since I did not get to the top end build until 4 years later it made sense to “refresh” the bottom end when the engine was out so we checked the rods and pistons, block, etc. and added new bearings. Rods, pistons, and studs were great so we reused. Engine was also put back to together with somewhat tighter clearances to quiet it up a little (original engine build was via Steve Drummond with more of a pro mod feel). Also decided to go with a more aggressive cam as part of the top end work. Also painted all covers wrinkle black.

Reply to post #7, If it were just based on end user adjustment "features" I would have stayed with Ecutek (Ecutek is so much better there and the Accessport feels like going back into time compared to the Ecutek ECUconnect app).  Problem is that I have had a bunch of mysterious engine sensor and traction control gremlins over the past few years that have required me to have my tune files wiped out and rebuilt completely (according to Ecutek coming though Lou) as well as pretty much every time I would go more than few months between tune adjustments.  Finally got to the point where Lou said he wasn't getting enough customer support from Ecutek to make engine tuning on that platform work for him anymore and I needed to switch over to Cobb to make things efficient and cost effective for me.  I like to keep all my GTR work under one roof for accountability / quality control so I didn't want to bring in an outside Ecutek only tuner like John V or Ben L and just decided to switch to Cobb.  

 

Car definitely drives better than it has ever before.  Lou has like 40 hours in to the tune to make everything perfect.  I also will finally get the trackside launch control/traction tuning refinement I need to start running some good times (although that is not the main point of this build).  This is probably all a very long way of saying my tuner prefers Cobb and I prefer my tuner.
