In Topic: Anyone Make a Splitter With Proper Brake Ducts?

25 December 2020 - 10:38 PM

I ended up going with a CF & FRP lip from ebay (stonecarbon2009) with the Rexpeed CF brake guides. Functional ducts, barely lower than stock. I'd say 8/10 fitment but overall satisfied. I had to drill some holes to get all the stock bolts to line up. You need to keep in mind it's a made to order item that took 3 months to get to me. Also got some Sliplo bumper scrape protection stickers (Amazon).

Not my car but where I originally saw it.

Actually, I have seen that thread before and saw the mention of APR but thought that i could not find their website for some reason. Low and behold they have this which looks like exactly what I am looking for... All I would need to do is run tubing from the ducts to the backing plate. Wish it had a matte finish.

Which holes did you need to drill? I am looking at the "GT Style Fit For 08 GTR R35" one from stonecarbon since you mentioned them and I think that will make a great baseline to fab up some tucked-away tubing since only the inlet holes are opened up. I am also digging the matte finish.

Do you have any pictures of yours?

Also, it does not need to be a flashy carbon fiber finish. It could have the same finish as OEM as long as it is functional. I would probably prefer that if a good looking option is available.

Unless you track your car hard, you can cool the rotors with brake duct deflectors that attach to the sway bar.. Best and lowest cost are Porsche GT-3 , they are hard plastic.

I may end up going that route but I still need a new splitter. Was hoping someone would know of a functional integrated unit that correctly cools from the center with tubing that does not stick out from the bottom. I believe the picture shared in my original post is a prototype RevoZport unit where the tubing is tucked away and integrates with the backing plate which is what I am looking for. I remember Stillen had a unit a few years ago that had similar tubing hidden away. I have some ideas for a custom solution that will work, I just want to avoid having to do a lot of cutting on my own.  Perhaps it ends up being the N-Tune splitter modified to push into tubes attached to the backing plate..

I will mostly be tracking the car with the occasional weekend drive. Road course only as I don't care much for autocross.
