It seems to me that the allure of the GTR is about over as is the life cycle of the R35. Well under 100 cars a month makes me wonder why Nissan even bothers. Along with a 2011 production of 300 cars for the U.S. (confirmed to me by my dealer) and the decision to not sell the Spec-V here lead me to conclude there will be no R36, at least in the U.S.

^ it could be that the updated 2012 might be the last R35 and then a delay between that and the R36... if so i will be putting my car up forsale in the fall and buying a 2012 next year

if the rumored upgrades horsepower and refresh body panels are true and there isnt a R36 for a while, then the 12 is the one i want

if the upgraded car is just to hold the R35 over a year or so then i dont want to buy it and have the R36 out right after i buy... so will be paying close attention to every bit of info that comes out to make the best decision

If there going to quit sending to the US then you would think that the 09's will be worth some money in the future.

Well, nice to know Juno and I contributed to that 87 tally for March. :)

Personally, based on the new EPA/mileage requirements that kick in in 2012 and get stricter on up to 2016 (I believe), I suspect that the 2012 will be the last R35 and there'll probably be a few years break before the R36 comes out giving Nissan time to get the car to come closer to the emissions/mileage requirements (hybrid perhaps?...DI hopefully) and still be a performance improvement over our cars.

This could result in our cars holding value pretty well as they will be easier to tune and relatively rare (think supra). We can only hope anyway. Regardless, I didn't buy this car as a monetary investment, it's just badass and that's good enough for me.

i wanna hold on to my 09 for a long time... Road and Track this month showed a possible thought process for a Hybrid GTR R36 based on the Infiniti Essence concept...bet it would be $90k plus... and WAY off in the future.... I think we are seeing the golden age of sports cars with 550hp wagone, 400hp 5.0 mustangs, LP560 lambos, etc etc.... and when the 34.1mpg CAFE regs kick in there will be a die off of high HP supercars

I agree completely. The window is closing for high horsepower, fossil-fueled cars with relatively low gas mileage. I plan to keep my GTR. I just do not think the next generation GTR, if there is one, will be nearly the brute that the current one happens to be. If I am wrong, I am ready to place my deposit anytime Nissan is ready.

87 in March is not bad at all. Some areas still pretty cold so I'd expect things to pick up in April and May. There is still inventory of unsold cars and the economy is not getting worse but stable or slightly improving.

Gas prices for premium still $3.30 in my area which is high and as long as it doesn't hit $6 per gallon then I can still drive the GTR anytime. Plus my other car could be the Nissan Leaf which is all electric so that if and when gas is expensive then I have choices.

Long live the R35. :irock:

i would guess that nissan is letting demand catch up to supply by sending only ~300 for 2011.
i would also guess that the '12 car is another update to the r35, the biggest yet, and that the car will continue to evolve after that until production ends, which could be a couple years after the '12 comes out.

i hope that when this '12 comes out, they essentially relaunch the car and do so in a way that will help public image a lot. it doesnt help when people are scared to buy/own the car.

Depends as always... This is my 1st Nissan and I do love the gtr but if there is something that's a better bang for the buck in a few years then that's the way my money would go. In about 4 months I would have had my gtr for 2 years lol and I only have 9300 miles. Gas prices won't affect my gtr but it would affect my daily

the Nissan leaf is intersting since it'll only be about $25-26k after govt rebate. Your home needs to be assessed too before you can buy it. I heared only 500 the 1st year? I park the gtr in the garage and my dd on the street so I couldn't charge it...

With such a low volume car, it could get 1MPG and not effect the fleet average.
