Ok so i went back to the local 1/8th tonight as it was like some $5 all you can run night

i got there early and was the VERY first car off the line... as soon as it was prepped...... i used Manual R COMF R

and i ran: 7.066 @ 102.9... then ran a 7.13 @ 102.3

then later in the night even though the prep was wearing off i backed it up on the other side lane with a 7.1 @ 101 .... but i was having traction problems

my last run was at night and the prep was bad... i came off the line spinning and got sideways even.... traction control came on and bogged it down for a sec aswell as the transmission light and still.. i ran a [email protected]

this 7 flat at 102.XX is big improvement over my [email protected] in 85 degree weather

im going back for 6.9s when it gets about 55 degrees outside

but the highlight of the night was when the commentator said "This little nissan coming up is a sleeper folks...."

lol the GTR is the most unsleeper car out there in a straight line

Congrats! Your reaction seems a bit high on that second run. Looks to be insanely fast though.

yeah i mean i wasnt really racing anyone so i engaged the launch as the first yellow light dropped ... just trying to get solid runs.. sometimes it holds for too long if you hold it once staged

usually im like .4 -.7 max when im up against another car as i start the launch as soon as they are staged so i can come off the brake right at the 2nd yellow

na im good now.....but yeah it takes a little finesse to time it just right as the process takes a couple quick seconds.... so when up against like pick up truck ( which i was tonight) i just mash it and make sure i get all 4K rpms and go

but honestly even when im trying hard ive never gotten under like a .2 or .3... in my old 350z where i would just pop the clutch one time i got a .007!

i think its because im always afraid of holding it too long.... i did that my first run a few weeks ago and just as the light went green it backed down to idle and just bogged.... i had to play catch up to an integra... i got him of course but still......

i did learn something... every time im trying to improve im gonna get to the track and be the first person off... i feel it made a big difference along with the temps

oh and bonus stories

during the street bike session.... i saw a old guy on a mini mo ped do 19 secs at 32 mph

then they had this thing called tag team driving ... where 2 people would get in the car and the first person would do the 60ft to the cone....then you would get out run around the car and the other person would finish the run.... swear to god these guys did it in a mini van and the guy in the passenger seat was drinking an old milwauke...no lie

the car with the best cumlative time got tag team belts they got from walmart...... it was all like trucks and SUVs though... i know its wrong but i wanted to do it and take the belts so bad ....but my GF was too embarrassed to be my co driver...

good ole hometown racing in rural NC... gotta love it!

i laugh but this is a serious 1/8th track... they have a bunch of big weekend events and get some crazy real deal drag cars to come out from all over
