I have heard mixed reports regarding the type of clearcoats used over the life of the R35.
Specifically that they previously used a "self leveling" clearcoat that they no longer used.... because it sucked.

I am about to buy some pads, flexx to polish my GTR and would like to figure out what type of clearcoat my 2011 GTR and maybe other members have.

MY2009 seemed to have a hard clear to me. I used a moderate swirl remover (wolfgang total swirl remover) followed by the glaze and it did a great job after about 6 section passes for each. Keep in mind my paint was very clean with only light swirls. Also I'm using a porter cable DA so your Flexx will be more powerful. Do a test spot first and start with a light to moderate polish and pad and you should be ok.
