Hi all, I'm considering to purchase a GTR. I'm looking at 09 or 10. I would love a 11 but it's a little out of my price range. My question is if I get a 09 or 10, can I have the dealer to upgrade to LC3? If so, is it free? If not, how much would that cost? My understand is that LC3 or '11 can use launch control as many time as you want and you will not void the warranty.

Thanks in advance

No upgrade available from Nissan.

You can purchase an AccessPort from Cobb and install your own LC.

But as of now, there are upgrades planned for us.

*edit: You can use LC2 (VDC-R) as many times as you want, and no worries about warranty either. 2010's came with it, and most 2009's are already upgraded to it (as a voluntary reprogramming).

A lot of transmission break in the 2009. Buying an used 2009, who knows what has happened.
What?

Any issues caused by LC1 was taken care of when the owner updated to LC2. 2009's are having issues right now (from what I've seen, most are covered), but I believe that 10's issues are coming (same transmission - unless this part was fixed, and we didn't hear about it).

Even with 2009 with lc2, the buyer would not know the history of what previous owner did on lc1. I just read lot more 2009 transmission go bad on this forum.

So let me get this right? The 2010 and the 2011 can be launch as many time as you want without voiding warranty? What is the 0-60 time on the older model? Also why is it that the new one can only be launch 4x in a row.

older times were 3.3-3.6 on average

the new car launches much more aggressively and since its under full warranty they added in a safeguard that you have to let it cool off for 1.5 miles after every 4 launches
