Since when is Ferrari the benchmark for dual clutch transmissions? If anything Ferrari were the leaders in sequential manual transmissions, but if anyone is a leader of dual clutch transmissions it's Porsche.

Ferrari no longer sell cars with manual transmissions, only dual clutch. So they have some experience. Whether their's in the 458 or the PDK one from Porsche is better, who knows.
Getrag dual clutch transmissions are used in the BMW M3, BMW Z4 Sdrive35i, Ferrari California, Ferrari 458 Italia, Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X, Ford and Renault vehicles. Porsche transmissions are designed and built by ZF. GT-R makes their own through one of their subsidiaries and most all of them use Borg-Warner components. And Ricardo makes the Bugatti Veyron one. Once I've driven all of those cars, I might know which is the best DCT, but until then....
Probably due to the 458's great reviews over its DCT. People assume its the latest and greatest and who knows, it might be!
