Hey guys/gals,

I have a 2012 GTR that I just took in for the first service. Long story short, I had a nail in my tire and I tried to patch it myself. I wasn't really comfortable with the angle the nail went in. I decided since I was bringing in the car for service, I'll just get a new tire.

Well... the dealer is telling me the factory original tires I have are discontinued and Dunlop has a newer (almost the same) tire. I don't know if that is true. I don't think having one rear tire different than the others would affect safety or performance...... but it still bothers me.

What would you do?

Look to see if your current tires are Dunlop SP 600 Maxx GT's. If they are, you have the latest tire which I believe all 2012's have.

I think the dealer is Mistaken, from what I can tell all the tires should match, there is only one model of the 600maxx GT that I can find . I think the parts guy that called me may have thought it was a previous year GTR. Thanks for the info.
