Hey guys! I'm new to this forum, so looking to learn. So I have a 2013 GTR Black Edition that was bone stock until I put a Password JDM midpipe. Sounds much better than stock but was hoping to add more sound. What simple things can be done to make it loud, like removing cats or muffler delete?

Any and all comments will be appreciated!

Catback will improve tone but the OEM exhaust is not bad at all IMO. You can try aftermarket downpipes without the cats - adds volume and a bit of power. You will need to retune the car to run them though. Currently on this setup myself - see sig block. Night/day difference from stock.

Mid Pipe is worth 10 to 15 hp.
Exhaust is worth very little for the money.
Non resonated is more sound and some drone.
I run resonated , don't really want drone.

So as I have the midpipe already..can I just take the muffler off and have nothing in it's place, can that be done? And how much is a tune

First of all, why would you not want the cat back? It's going to look really weird without the exhaust tips in the back. They're not fake tips like you see on Lexus's and Hyundai's, they're actually connected to the catback. Just buy a system from Meisterschaft. As far as I'm aware it's straight pipe: no mufflers or resonators. It's the cheapest system that's good quality. Avoid Password's catback. Maybe things have changed, but the fit is terrible, you have to actually modify the car and cut out some pieces for it to fit, and there are members whose welds have broken. There's a reason why it's so cheap. Just read through some of the comments in this thread regarding the (lack of) quality of Password's catback.

Second, no, you can't remove the cat back (rear mufflers) and keep the midpipe without some modifications. The midpipe is held in place by bolting to the downpipes and the catback. I don't believe it has an exhaust hanger of its own. If you somehow rigged up your midpipe to hang and completely eliminated your catback, you may actually lose some power due to less scavenging.

Much more sound or improved performance.
NO, I would not take off muffler.

More sound = new straight exhaust.

More performance = Cobb flash with more boost etc.

Catless, non resonated midpipe, catless DPs, and oem exhaust sound awesome, plus good performance. I love loud, so I'm completely straight pipe.

Before you make the leap to straight pipe no cat everything, i highly encourage you to find a local owner with a similar setup. Many have regretted this decision because it is way too loud for them and you may find that to be the case after experiencing it in person.

Honestly only a bit louder than oem if you don't do the whole system... Hard to justify cost in one man's opinion.

The oem down pipes and mid pipe muffle the most sound. The oem cat back has very small mufflers, think glasspack small, and are a straight through design, again think glasspack, so your not gaining much over oem in sound by replacing the cat back, unless you go bigger in pipe size for flow...

+1 on the downpipes, midpipe, and stock catback. Get a custom tune, along with 3" intakes and 1000cc injectors and the car will be perfect.

HKS midpipe and back including titanium tips (larger than stock) is the BEST! Never regretted it and can't imagine driving the GTR with stock sound.

I have the password jdm midpipe on already. So what downpipe can work with that? Also do I have to have injectors with the downpipe install?
