9.92

We had a huge dsm/evo race this past weekend and we were getting a few of our cars ready so I flew in my good friend Jason Siebels from pro efi. While he was here we installed the pro efi on my 2011 to try a few things.

The car is running on alpha 9 turbos and e85

We didn't spend much time on it due to other things we needed to get done on the race car but we were able to get a solid base tune on the car after a few street pulls.

Being the car is on lc3 we tried to find an easy way to work around it. We were able to make the car launch MUCH harder than standard lc3 but we are still limited with vdc on so the throttles would slam shut shortly after a launch :( We started working around that by taking control of the throttles but that added a whole new list of problems so being that we were limited on time we just reverted back to oem throttle control.

At the track between rounds I made a few passes in the GTR.

1st pass 1.52 60ft !! unfortunately we had the timing very low on the first pass so it only went 10.2 at 138

2nd pass more timing and it was enough to turn traction control on so the run was aborted

3rd pass We softened the hit way up to avoid losing another run and it went like this

1.69

6.50
115.85

9.923
144.8

We had a dyno day scheduled for the next day so we did not push the car very hard. We were able to make around 40-50 more hp and tq throughout the entire rpm range.

As soon as the guys at cobb can give us vdc off launches I will take the car back to the track to see how far I can push the stock rim and tire combo. I love having the car look totally stock.

Congrat's John! I am also interested in seeing how deep in the 9's you can get on stock runflats.

no one had done 9 sec with the OE all season tires yet. very nice, John. Congrats

btw, what was the final dyno number?
9 second car on all seasons. That is nice. Congratulations on the run.
Way to go John! Another ALPHA 9 in the 9's!

The car has a good amount more in it too.

Eric
how the hell did you manage a 1.52 60' on oem all seasons? Thats insane. Congrats

The numbers came out in line with where they should be. To prevent a pissing contest I am going to keep the numbers to myself. I use the dyno as a tool for before and after and nothing else.
Wow way to go John! What you do, let most of the air outta those tires!? Hey see you Mon!

We have more left in the tires for sure
These were only the first few passes on a track that had a ton of street tire cars running on it.

See you Monday

So this was done with the ProEfi ? huh.. how much boost off the line ?

no boost off the line, the lc3 just wont allow for much room. I am happy the car ran 9's but I know there is a lot more left so I honestly considered not even posting about it.

The 9 sec run was just stock lc3 with no altering so that is why the 60ft slowed to a 1.69 With the pro efi we can make our own version of traction control but we cannot have vdc interfering.

After I get to where I want to be on the stock tires I will bite the bullet and buy a drag radial setup and see what it will really do.

Ill be going back to the track and see if i can get that pesky 9.5x .. power is there , its my 60ft time that i am struggling with and tire hop..

Hopefully Thistle will have a LC4 with VDC off version..hehe

Get some suspension under it that can control the tire, or work on the clutch lockup on the car. Some cars go fine, some have issues. All depends on the car, track, tire.
CONGRATS!
doesnt Switzer use a proEFI for launching instead of the LC3? They said full custom launch control but they wont say how its done.
Wow, congrats! That is amazing.

What tranny upgrades did you do?
great run John....Iam happy for you!!

I have "beater clutch in the car right now due to all of the testing we are doing.

I cannot comment on what Tym is doing with launch control. This is an lc3 car though so this is a unique year being usdm 2011 only.
