About time we got some AMS Alpha 12 action Down Under.

I was originally looking at the Alpha 10 kit but in the end the lure of 1,300 odd horsepower kept calling. I pulled the trigger on an Alpha 12 kit that will be built by the guys at AMS and shipped down under. A big thanks to Jeremy at Speed for Sale for sorting this all out and sourcing everything for me and to Eric at AMS and also Handbrake for answering my questions. The car already has substantial mods to strengthen the trans, gearbox etc so I'm looking forward to getting this all fitted up and running: The full spec list including the upcoming AMS gear is listed below:

The Promax clutch will not be needed for these power levels?
Possibly, but at this stage I'm happy to try out the current trans setup with the Willall gear. A lot of work has been put into getting the trans up to spec and I'll be working with Willall to make sure the trans will handle the power levels of the Alpha 12.

Hopefully the willall stuff will workout for you. It would be nice to have another option other than the 10k promax setup. Keep us post and good luck with the build

Thank you for the post Slip. Normally we always recommend customers in that area work with Mercury Motorsports directly as they are THE R35 shop in the area but Slip has a special sponsorship / relationship with Jeremy at SFS so he is working through him.

This should be a pretty monstrous project and Slip is doing it right!

I will keep everyone posted on progress

This will be a good benchmark for our transmission strengthening products behind an established marker like Alpha 12. We are looking forward to this with much anticipation. I will personally be overseeing the design and development of the support systems put into place on this car for Alpha 12, such as the fuel system, oil control, cooling etc.as to the best of my knowledge it will be the first of its type to be used for genuine continuous track application.

At this stage we are looking at all tuning options for this engine but of course will be guided by AMS. It certainly wont run airflow meters, but the interesting challenge of Cobb/Stock Computer interfaced with Motec M800 and ADL logging looks attractive....as does ProEFi. Either way it will be interesting, and I am sure challenging....but thats why we get up in the mornings. Thankfully 8 second GTRs are no strangers to us

Congrats Slip. Interested to hear how you like this turbo set up on the track.

On a side note; Our cars are almost carbon copies of one another. We even mounted the splitter supports in the same location.
Jason, it should be interesting, if the Alpha 12 turbos spool in a similar fashion to the stock units it'll be one hell of a ride on the track.

I haven't seen any reports of the Alpha 12 engines in dedicated track cars so I'm keen to see how it holds up compared to the 1/4 mile and straight line WOT runs that we are seeing at present.

The Alpha 10 with a 4.0 ltr block has held up for Handbrake's time attack GTR so I'm confident AMS have it all together with the 12.

Nice build slip, it will really be interesting to see the alpha 12 in a track car. The alpha 10 was very respectable in wta
