Great write-up !!
Mizuno does carry some disdain towards the typical US consumer, behind the typical polite and humble front he puts on. Honda marketing/engineering guys in Japan had the same attitude regarding the Type R cars, especially the NSX-R.
I know the American Nissan employee who struggled real hard to get the Nismo products to the US market; it took a long time and some strong $ arguments to change their mind. In all cases, the Japanese think "less" of us and really believe we do not deserve their best technology.
And then there is the legal aspect and dangers of the US scene. Look elsewhere on this forum for a thread on a new lawsuit. That stuff does not help....
