I know there have been numerous posts regarding this topic, but I haven't specifically found a sound clip for what I am looking for. I want to hear a car with catless downpipes, a Cobb catted midpipe, and stock rear section. This is the setup I would like to run. I've only been able to find sound clips with this setup plus some aftermarket rear section. I don't want my exhaust to be too loud, but I do want to run catless dp's and a Cobb catted mp if it isn't too obnoxious.

Thanks.

Kai, I know this isn't what you are looking for but my car with AMS catless DP's, Cobb non catted mid, and T1R rear section sounds great and is very nice in the cabin. If it was too loud my wife would complain and she has never said a word about it. The AMS DP's are the ticket though as they do not have the resonance and tinny sound that most DP's exhibit because of their cast end piece construction and thick wall tubing. If you did those with a Cobb catted mid and stock rear section I'm sure it won't be too loud for you.........it would be too quiet for me though. You can see the vid of my car in the intake thread I posted.

Kai, are you going to swap out the HKS midpipe b/c of the loudness and smell of being entirely catless?

I figured since the HKS was resonated that it would be fine.

easy2speed has the AMS downpipes with HKS resonated and stock muffler: http://www.youtube.com/user/easy2speed#p/u/15/mCcgbHg-tPY

Dave - Thanks for the tip. I agree, your car sounds great and not too loud. I think if I stick with the stock rear, my wife won't kill me.

Phil - I listened to that clip and it sounded great. The only problem is that I definitely don't want to go completely catless. I don't want the soot and smell. I've never been a tree hugger, and when I was in college my turbo cars were catless, but now that I have a 4 year old daughter, I worry that we are destroying this planet and the world is going to be a mess when she grows up so I gotta keep one pair of cats in just to make me feel better

(the other part of my brain says, "shit, you already drive a 12mpg car on 100 octane gas with a monster sized carbon footprint, so what the hell, might as well go catless")

Nice! Thanks for posting that. Looks like 22whp and 40wtq delta at the peaks, and even more in the midrange. His car makes the same hp on 91 octane as my car does on 100 octane. So Jon, what would his car make on 100 oct? 580-590whp? Can Ronnie send me the video or post it?
