Anyone here in BC lose their GT-R

Looks like the RCMP busted up some street racing and grabbed a bunch of cars. On the list was a "high end Nissan" so I'm guessing that was a GT-R

sounds like kids from well to do Asian families who are left in North America with a wad of cash, a large allowance and no adult supervision.
Top end of the Lamborghini seized: around 200 mph. Top end of the Motorola in the RCMP cruiser: around 669,600,000 mph. Lesson learned: never race a Motorola....
Here is an article that lists the cars - 3 GTRs in the group

says that the cops are looking at perminant seizure of the cars.
I was thinking buying opportunity myself. Though likely their PhD (poppa has dough) has the lawyers working on blocking the seizure, and failing that they'll have someone at auction to buy them back for Jr. Unless of course Jr already got a new car and a new drivers license from another country to help with the "trama" of this whole event...
I'm sure that $196 fine will teach them... LOL
They watched too much Dubai races on YouTube.
That's a pretty weak punishment, for such a stupid act. Speeding is one thing, but doing it with 13 high end exotics down a major highway during high traffic time? Really?

Wow....
Lots of preachers on this board!
None of them "lost" their cars.
This is the main reason I let my car go. In this case I don't doubt that some of these guys were driving recklessly but from what I have read they were stopped after exiting the highway. In fact I have yet to hear that the police have any real evidence (radar, airplane timings etc) evidence other than 911 calls from other pissed off motorists. So here we have an example where police can, with scant or no evidence, seize your car for (in this case) 7 days. There are other BC laws which can have the police size your car longer and in some cases permanently. What stops some asshat neighbour from complaining about you?

As well the media teams with the police and hypes it up and writes that it was a 13 car street race. In reality two cars would slow down both lanes until they had a gap and then light it up, stupid but far from 13 cars racings simultaneously. In the theprovince.com they also list one GTR as a spec V worth $170k so as to pump up the total dollar value of the cars involved. Really? I seriously doubt it.

I really miss my car but with the state sponsored stealing now in place I'm happy to be puttering in my 158 hp, massive torque oversteer Scion xB thanks.

i don't know if those were the ones caught, but maybe they weren't asian? then again, they don't look like they're behind bars nor do they look 20ish.

ALL of them were Asian: http://surreybeacon.com/2011/09/no-criminal-charges-for-fast-and-furious-13-only-alternative-is-public-shaming/

It's quite common to see the rich fobby Asian kids who are dropped off by their parents, even in LA.
nice cars lol

if they can afford all these cars im sure they can pay all the fines easily
Not sure how I feel about this. First off, if you have a "newbie" license, you shouldn't be in a super car. But regardless, I gotta go with dukestar - these are just accounts from pissed off motorists. They're not recklessly "drag racing" at night at extremely high speeds. 160kmph = 100mph... which in a super car isn't really that crazy - I'd take that any day over some dumb ass talking on their phone and weaving through traffic hap-hazardously at 85mph on the LIE/GCP (Long Island, NY). You can do 30->100->65 in probably under 5 sec. Cops didn't see anything, so you can't press charges.

I do hope that the kids learn their lesson, and if they do dick around that they go out on early weekend mornings into the BC country side or take it to the track. Gotta follow the "mom" rule - "How would you feel if your mom was driving on the highway as someone drove by like this."
I live here locally in BC and all the drivers are N-signed spoiled kids. It's honestly quite pathetic that they'd even think about street racing. Word has it that the vehicles will indeed be auctioned off soon but no idea as to how much they will go for.

Rumor has it the fines went over $3000 and suspension of license (not like they'd care since they don't pay it anyway).

Personally it's just kind of sad over here where the cops don't do much besides hand out tickets and suspend licenses...they still haven't even charged the known rioters after game7 at the Stanley Cup finals...

Just recently I've spotted a white Aventador too....guess who drives it? (lol and who paid for it obviously)
