boost gauge source

248 Views 8 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  240Z TwinTurbo
i have additional gauges installed (defi) and used the fuel pressure regulator line as source with a t piece.

on full boost i have readings up to 2 bar while the oem gauge shows the real value (around 1 bar)

can anyone explain me this behavior and find a bettter source for boost?

thx, Philipp

One must be gauge pressure and the other absolute pressure, which will be different by 1 bar.

so oem shows relatively pressure ?
You have to select the one you want and based on my 2009 Cobb choices, I have "Manifold Absolute Pressure" and "Manifold Relative Pressure (Sea Level)," but I have seen it presented in many different ways.

ok thx

It allows you to log both
hm i'm still unsure if i got it right.

both gauges shows 0 without engine running, in idle around -0.7bar.

so the r35 has around 2bar absolute pressure and 1bar relative to athmosperic pressure? as for my understanding that would mean without engine running the oem gauge should show 1bar while the DEFI gauge is zero.
"absolute pressure uses absolute zero as its zero point, while gauge pressure uses atmospheric pressure as its zero point"

Post a log at idle and snap a picture of the gauge at idle
