Don at Accelerated Performance builds some amazing motors!!I knew it would happen sooner or later, rod broke and went through the block..the rod is the weakest link on the GTR. Anyone know of a good engine builder in the socal area?
I know that makes you a little nervous seeing these threads... I followed your HKS800 build and really enjoyed seeing a true enthusiast do there own work.dam..sorry to hear that..good excuse to get a built engine. Thanks for sharing the information by the way. Any chance you could share specifics such as
- What fuel?
- What boost?
- Mileage?
- Dyno sheet or numbers? hp and torque
- Mods on engine?

Thanks for the information..this would enlighten stock GTR modders of how far to we can go.I have aftermarket turbos 700 whp and 680 torque on 100 octane. Car was running amazing for the last 2k miles but the torque just too much, rod let go on at full throttle run 5500 rpm. Smoke went out the back of the car like a missle. 9k miles, never tracked or launched just street use. Still looking for a reasonable shop to build my motor.
I think you are right, max torque on stock rods should be ~600..after that its a toss up. If you look at switzer P800 kit they limit torque and make 700 hp on stock internals and they claim to not have issues...but you really never know.Torque figures should have been limited.
I'm also on 700whp but my torque is only 602 as I'm on stock motor and trans
