My 2010 CBA was imported from Canada before I bought it, and is equipped with DRLs where it runs the high beams at 50% power unless I turn the headlights all the way on. DRLs even remain on if I turn lights 1 click forward to parking lights only. As I understand it, this is not a factory feature of the CBA cars, even when imported to Canada where it was required by law sooner than the US. I think some if not all dealerships installed DRL modules in the cars before delivery to customers in this case.

I REALLY want to disable the DRL so I can run no lights, or just parking lights only at my own discretion.

I have dug around the wiring a bit. both near the fuse box under the hood (IPDM?) and behind the headlights when the bumper was off and haven't noticed any evidence of wire splicing or DRL modules installed.
If anybody has any knowledge on Canadian CBAs with DRLs, either how they were enabled or how to remove them please let me know. I tried looking up part numbers and wiring diagrams for any information about lighting circuits or differences between US and CAN models, but so far haven't come up with anything useful. Electronics are not my strong suit so I am hoping somebody has figured this out already in the past.

Thanks in advance for any consideration.

Ahhh no.
No dealerships installed anything DRL related.
Pre 2009 and beyond all have DRL’s from factory for CDN models.

From what I understand - the BCM runs the DRL’s and it provides the appropriate voltage to create the lower wattage light emittance.
So to modify them would be quite difficult.

Unless someone can correct me

Ok, I guess that's bad news for me, I assumed it was a module because they stay on even when the e-brake is pulled, which doesn't happen on other Nissan models of the same year range to my understanding. I guess the plot thickens, I'll keep searching, thanks for your input.

These guys back in the day sold a DRL auto on/off module for the GTR.
Might be worth reaching out to them - I am not certain they still carry it.
