Freaking awesome. I'm a huge fan of all the old skylines. Though currently I've got a bit of a thing for the dr-30, especially pre-iron mask.

Though I'd totally rock a hako or kenmeri right now. Hmmm.... Maybe it's time for me to look at actually importing. Haha.

Seriously though, I'd kill for the real thing with the old GT-R's. But I think considering how much they go for, building a clone out of a 2000 GT-X is acceptable, especially since the old L-blocks can be pretty freaking awesome.

So much I want....
When they are over 25 they are legal to import. Still some hoops to jump though, but not impossible.
Ya I've actually spoken to Eric @jdmlegends to do it, but I've yet to pull the trigger. I've sat in/ridden a couple of the vehicles he's brought in, he does awesome work, and the quality is worth the little extra cash. The only unfortunate thing for me is I'm getting ready to move, wither to Cali, whichll make getting certain models far more irritating, or to Georgia where they just don't care. Or Oregon, which I've got no clue about.

As it is, my obsession with skylines has been since I was 10 or so and rode in an R-32 GTR in either San Diego or Mexico on a family trip. Ever since then Ive wanted a skyline, and as I've had the pleasure of driving some very special R-33's and a ridiculous R-34 when I lived in Hong Kong, but when I saw my first Hako there.... It dawned on me, I have to have them all. As of now, with a couple of the places we're looking at I've already gotten an idea for my garage and how to present it... The only hard part for me is whether or not to include the Infiniti models.... Haha. However it all starts with one, and hopefully soon.

/end yet another Cooper rambling story of no point.

Who's MotoRex car did you ride in? There are only so many, and I knew/know most/nearly all of the owners. If it was SD, and an R32, I think I know the car.

Well, if you need any help finding anything let me know. I still stay in contact with a lot of the owners.
I don't think Motorex was around then. I was ten, went on a trip with my dad to SD and then Mexico for one day. This was 93, the car was brand new, only rode in it a little, but I freaking loved it. It was the dark grey, gold wheels, and that sound..... Honestly the ride in the car is the only thing I remember from that trip, for all I know the car was a temporary media import. All I know is after that drive I wanted to read everything I possibly could about cars. My dad gave me this big fat stack of C&D and R&T mags that I plowed through.

Only Motorex Vehicles I've seen that I know are Motorex, are a bright orange 33, and a dark grey 32 up in Idaho. Though in high school I did have a pair of friends who had black r32's that I believe came in a less than legal way, unless you sold a pair of Black R32's to a couple of Japanese college students in Utah back in 98/99. One of them also had a pretty rad X100 chaser that he was forced to ship home

Probably the Akimoto car. I remember seeing one on the freeway back in 1991. I had just got back from Japan, where I saw a ton of R32's. Watched and bought all these videotapes of Nissan Skylines. Driving to pick up a brand new GMC Syclone, I saw the distinctive lights, and large exhaust. Cruised behind it for a little while on the 210 Freeway here in LA.

Still my favorite car. Gunmetal R32 GT-R. The early cars are now over 21 years old, so EPA exempt in their original configuration. Still got a few more years for DOT, and California still has its own issues.
