It's usually the fuel gauge, and they have to replace the whole instrument cluster. Do a search, many of us have already done it. You take it in, they confim the problem, take down your mileage, order one, and it's a 1 day fix after that.

Its so common there is a whole thread on this topic. Personally, my fuel gauge flickers intermittently but the temp guage light is completely out. My replacement is coming soon, to be covered under warranty.

Nice to see that they recognize it as a defect and will extend the warranty for the new gauge up to six years.
+1 on this. Albeit 'sucks that this crap is quite common .

Still no letter for me.

Normal 3 year warranty now 6 year warranty for dash light gauges. 2009 and 2010 GTRs are reporting this problem with about 13,000 to 30,000 miles on them. DIY fix about $175 for parts and shipping see other thread in this forum.

Flickering is an early sign of failure. My gauges are sometimes off, sometimes on and sometimes flicker. No real pattern at all and in the same one trip of 15 minutes can be working or not by the end of the trip.

If you do have flickering but never goes out then wait until the dash light stays out. Then report it.

I just called my Nissan dealer and they said there is a warranty extension on this common problem. My car is just out of warranty but they will do it anyway.
Look into it
It's covered for 6 years. I think it is very common problem. After I fixed mine now my front dash clunks and rattles on rough roads. Oh well.
