Mine was fine for the first 9000miles, at 12700 now and they have started to get annoying.

Yes. I have 1994kms on the car. I will finally be able to start to really open her up on my next drive, I will report back if the bedding of the pads makes any difference to noise, (by transferring some pad material to the rotors by braking from 160KM/HR to 10KM/HR 3 times in a row and then cruising for 10-15 minutes after. If there is a better way for the GT-R then this please let me know!)

My Cayenne Turbo S was scary loud, going through drivethru's you would have people in the restaurant looking outside from noise alone...

Looks like all GTR model years have brake squeal, and funky transmission noises at low speeds :)
I had passengers tell me that my transmission has major problems, and that my brakes need service.

Mine had a horrible noise when I got it, its a used 2009, even when I was just braking easy it would make that noise, but I talked to my GTR tech about this noise and to fix it he added a couple of clips, I think to the calipers, and now you only hear it once in a great while and its not so bad when it happens. That noise was embarrassing when I pulled up next to another car they probably thought it was a heap of junk pulling up next to them.

You see the public perception is wrong. They think junk - I think "race car."

On the weekends, and in past and future lives, I work on race cars. If I don't hear the brakes, I don't think they are working. Couple of Bosch 044's, and some race compounds let me know the car is alive.

To the educated, yes. To the average person, no...
