I changed touchpoints with no problem, but when trying to do relearn on the TCM it gave the engine temp warning. The engine/ tranny fluid was well over 80 deg. and after a few min. I received a fatal error....Any ideas???

I believe if the temps are too high it will also give you an error. Should be at normal operating temp.

Also try turning off the car and then turning it back on.

Lastly it could be the firmware version of your Cobb and working on a 2012. I know the fix for that is in the works.

thanks guys, but it was in the good temp range and I did it the same way that I had previously done it succesfully. I ran an update on firmware and also tried turning the car off... Several attempts with the same fatal error message????

Ok , Joe I had actualy just tried my touchpoints at +1 and then did the relearn. So I need to set them to 0 and then do the relearn, at which point I can then set the touch points? Or would it even be needed?
thanks

Did this get resolved, I'm having the same issue, however I have not changed the touch points from factory. Is it possible that they are not 0 from factory and that's the issue ?

However if they are all 0's from factory what next ?

I tried at 60C's and at 80C's, the on screen prompt instructed to do it at Engine Temp 80C's.

Do you have a recommended temp range for the trans ?

Which TCM are you running? LC1, LC2, LC3, or LC4? Also what is the firmware on your AccessPORT? To find this on your AccessPORT go to "AccessPORT->About" and look for the firmware.

I'm going to be out of the office for the next two weeks so my response may be slow.

I'm running the Canned LC2-V1 for JF04B, this was loaded prior to doing the relearn.

Using the lastest (non-Alpha) firmware, I check to make sure last night, however once I get home I can confirm.

Additionally, I'm sure it's a user error Just need to determine what's causing it!

Try installing the new firmware, uninstall cobb from your GT-R, reinstall and try clutch learning again. Make sure you take note of which LC you are using for reference.

My car has to be on to do the relearn. If it is not, the AP will say "start engine" and when i do, it will freeze for a few and then say fatal error.

I unplug it and start the car first, then do the relearn and it works perfectly. Tried it twice now and it works without issue.

Something to try if you haven't.

That is what I have also observed. Make sure to start the car first before you push the button on the AP for gear learning. If you don't have the car already running it will fatal error every time.

What firmware do you have on your AccessPORT?

Your transmission has to be fully warmed up before doing the learning. What is your trans fluid at when you do the learning?

You car has to be running and in part the the fluid fully warmed. Make sure you follow those steps. That should be all you have to do, but we need to make sure you have the correct Firmware on your AccessPORT.
