Yes, old news but food for thought for those who haven't seen it. Some of the aggressive curves are reminiscent of the Infiniti Essence concept but it has elements from past Ferraris and even a hint of the Ford GT.

The German designer chose to name his renderings the 612 GTO probably to impart his vision of a more racy version of the 612 Scaglietti which was more of a luxury coupe. Except for the last 599 GTO, the previous GTOs were all homologation ringing true to the Italian acronym for GTO (Gran Turismo Omologato). If they build it and make it competitive, it would probably bear little resemblance to the 612 in internals and hardly recognizable externally as a pumped up 612. More than likely, they would drop the 612 name or if not competitive, they would not use the GTO moniker.

These renderings are excellent and looks like it could be built. It's possibly a look into the future of car design, so while not strictly aerodynamically designed for all out performance, there is a niche for cars meant more as eye candy. Infinitti could go that way with some GT-R internals, and certainly Ferrari is well known for their nice curves.
