Fired the babysitter today

Just got back from VIR with Trackdaze and it was a great event. I ran the first day like I normally do with VDC in race mode but today I finally decided to put on some big boy pants and lose the nanny.

I spent the first couple of laps getting used to the fact that I was now in control and responsible for keeping the car pointed in a (mostly) forward direction. Once I convinced myself that I wasn't going to go wildly spinning off track, I was able to pick up the pace and was soon running at the same intensity level as my earlier VDC runs. The car actually feels very stable and wasn't at all diffiicult to handle. I had expected a more of a transition trying to keep it reigned in and learning to control the power without getting out of line but I thought it all went very well. For anyone else who is still on VDC, I would definitely recommend giving it a try. Just dial it back for a few laps and work your way back into it and you'll be back up to speed pretty quickly.

Lol, I thought this post was going to actually be about you wanting NAGTROG to know you're firing your babysitter.

Glad you liked it off, I do too, but last time I turned mine off, I spun in the last part of turn 17 at Sebring, bending my camber arm.
Been chicken ever since. Having just done a late pass, I was totally off line to enter that turn. Should've been on outside of track going into the turn, but was on the inside line. Lesson learned. Don't do late passes unless you're prepared to do the next turn way off line, ie a shit ton slower!

VDC-R works really, really well. In most corners it does not interfere at all and lets you slide the car easily. Off-camber corners or corners with bumpy pavement it doesn't do as well. VDC-R also lets you be a little lazy and less precise getting onto the power thru/out of a corner.

I was a little disappointed with this thread too; I was looking for tips/advice on how to fire mine.....

Wasn't trying to make it too confusing. It was posted in the Road Racing section so I thought that might be a clue but maybe not...

Sorry , I was kidding. I actually thought your title was fairly clever.

But you didn't fire her, she could always come back! Hopefully she doesn't take her revenge on you mid-corner!

I kid, I kid. I love track/road racing. Were you doing this just as a track day, and are you planning on doing some racing soon? Or is racing a whole 'nother ball game that you're not comfortable with just yet?
I am not brave enough to turn off VDC..

due to warranty purposes.
